LeBron James of the Miami Heat recently earned himself yet another notch on the belt of NBA history when he was named the NBA\u2019s Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the 44th time in his career. They\u2019ve lost 13 of the last 15 games in this series, which includes the last seven in a row. The Hawks are just barely averaging better than 90 points over those seven contests, but the good news is that the road team is 9-2 ATS in the last 11 between these two.<\/p>\n Atlanta enters this one having won their last two games and four out of their last five. Their only loss came to the New York Knicks\u2014the same team they beat in their most recent outing.<\/p>\n So far on the year, Atlanta\u2019s offense has looked crisp. It is averaging 104.7 points per game, which is good enough for seventh in the league, and it is recording 26.3 assists along the way. Spreading the wealth is not a problem for this group, as the ball is being passed around well, but it has the unfortunate task of finding the same success against a Miami team that rotates well and defends those same passing lanes that Atlanta is used to exploiting.<\/p>\n In case you couldn\u2019t tell, LeBron James is on an absolute tear entering Tuesday night\u2019s matchup with the Hawks. Over the past week, the 28-year-old has averaged 34 points per game while shooting an unbelievable 70.2 percent from the field. The bad news for Atlanta? James is still the reigning MVP (and Finals MVP), and defeating the Heat will come down to what kind of pressure they can put on him (and how many shots they can force him to take from the outside).<\/p>\n In their last eight games versus the NBA\u2019s Southeast division, the Heat are 7-1 ATS. They\u2019ve lost just one game in their last seven outings\u2014a one-point loss to the re-building, yet still rivaled Boston Celtics.<\/p>\n Neither defense has looked spectacular this season (especially on Atlanta\u2019s end), which means we\u2019re likely looking at a fast-paced, high-scoring affair.
