We heard\u00a0 it with Washington, we heard it with UCLA, and now we have good reason\u00a0 to hear it against with the Stanford Cardinal just around the corner.<\/p>\n Entering Week 11, the Ducks have been leapt by the\u00a0 Florida State Seminoles for the No. 2 spot in the BCS. FSU has played\u00a0 a much tougher schedule up to this point in the year, but a win over\u00a0 the Cardinal would surely put Oregon back in the spot where most believe\u00a0 it belongs.<\/p>\n The trouble that the Ducks endured last year against\u00a0 Stanford was running between the tackles. It\u2019s the same problem that\u00a0 has plagued them against bigger competition the past few seasons, and\u00a0 the hope this time around will be to make plays in space early to open\u00a0 up the game down the middle.<\/p>\n Defensively, Oregon is going up against a big team\u00a0 that, while not being elite in any one particular category, can put\u00a0 up some serious points when given the chance. It is coming off of back-to-back\u00a0 grind-it-out games against the UCLA Bruins and Oregon State Beavers,\u00a0 and it\u2019ll be ready to show that it can win games both with its offense\u00a0 and its defense. <\/p>\n [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n The Cardinal have a heavy task at hand when it comes\u00a0 to stopping the Oregon offense.<\/p>\n The Ducks are putting up the second-most\u00a0 points in the country at this point, and they\u2019re doing it with a balanced\u00a0 attack.<\/p>\n What\u2019s different about the Ducks\u2019\u00a0strategy\u00a0 this season is that they are using the pass to set up the run, not the\u00a0 other way around. It used to be that they tried to run their opponents\u00a0 off the field from the start, but this season, they\u2019re utilizing Heisman<\/p>\n Hopeful Marcus Mariota to open up the offense for the three-headed monster\u00a0 in De\u2019Anthony Thomas, Byron Marshall and Thomas Tyner. The Cardinal must be willing to lock down receivers\u00a0 from the game\u2019s opening snap, while also paying close attention to\u00a0 the backs and where they\u2019re going on each and every zone read.<\/p>\n As good as Stanford has been this season, the edge\u00a0 here has to go to the Ducks.<\/p>\n Not only are they scoring 55.6 points per\u00a0 game, but they\u2019re holding their opponents to 16.9\u2014the seventh-best\u00a0 mark in the nation.<\/p>\n The Cardinal are just 2-9 SU in this matchup\u2019s\u00a0 last 11 outings, and as much as home-field advantage can mean in a rivalry,\u00a0 Oregon is 4-1 SU in this matchup when played in Stanford Stadium.<\/p>\n The Ducks are 14-2 ATS in their last 16 games, and\u00a0 while Stanford will be their toughest competition to date, it\u2019s tough\u00a0 to bet against them at this point in the process.<\/p>\n Prediction: Oregon 44 \u2013\u00a0Stanford 27<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Oregon vs Stanford NCAA Football Odds Odds During the 2012 college football season, the Oregon\u00a0 Ducks had just one blemish on their entire remarkable campaign.
