2013 SEC Betting Futures<\/h2>\n

College basketball season is just around the corner. Team media days have come and gone and practices are now in full swing. The first games of the season come on November 8. CappersPicks is going to give you a look at power rankings in many different conferences. <\/p>\n

No doubt the SEC dominates in college football, but they aren\u2019t always so good in college basketball. Let\u2019s take a look at the conference.<\/p>\n

Preseason Coaches Poll<\/strong><\/a> (Link)<\/p>\n

SEC 2013-2014 NCAA BB Power Rankings<\/b><\/h3>\n

1. Kentucky (+135)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Coach Calipari\u2019s team is clearly number one to start the season. The amount of young talent here is just scary. The Harrison twins and Julius Randle will all start as freshman. Randle is projected by many as the second pick in next year\u2019s NBA draft. Alex Poythress and Will Cauley-Stein are back for what should be a big sophomore year. Last year\u2019s disappointment will be long gone early on this season.<\/p>\n

2. Florida (+215)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t sleep on the Florida Gators. Billy Donovan is a top-notch coach, and he has a ton of talent this season. Patric Young will be the leader of this team, but the Gators are going to be a very deep team where different guys will step up every night. <\/p>\n

The Gators have been to three straight Elite 8\u2019s. They might make it four.<\/p>\n

3. Tennessee (+650)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Big drop off from the first two to the Volunteers. Cuonzo Martin is doing it the right way at Tennessee, and this program got a big boost when Antonio Barton transferred here from Memphis. Look for Tennessee\u2019s athleticism to win them a lot of games.<\/p>\n

4. Alabama (+800)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Crimson Tide would have been in the third spot, but Trevor Lacey transferred to NC State in the offseason. Anthony Grant is a coach that gets a ton of effort out of his team every single night. Grant will force this team to play good defense, and that should lead to plenty of wins.<\/p>\n

5. LSU (+1200)<\/strong><\/p>\n

LSU is a team that hasn\u2019t been a contender the past few years, but it wouldn\u2019t surprise me to see this team fighting for a NCAA Tournament spot at the end of the year. Jarrell Martin was the team\u2019s top recruit since Shaquille O\u2019Neal. Johnny Jones can recruit, and that\u2019s going to pay dividends soon.<\/p>\n

6. Arkansas (+1600)<\/strong><\/p>\n

There will be at least two freshman in the Arkansas starting lineup this year. The Razorbacks have a long ways to go to compete with the best in the conference, but they are gaining ground.

\n7. Missouri (+1000)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Frank Haith has a lot of questions surrounding his past, and he\u2019ll miss a few games at the start of the season. Haith\u2019s Missouri team will really miss the four starters that are gone from last year\u2019s team. The Tigers are bound to drop quite a ways in the standings.<\/p>\n

8. Texas A &M (+2000)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Aggies aren\u2019t supremely talented, but this team will play hard on the defensive end and get it after it for 40 minutes every night. The Aggies could surprise some people.<\/p>\n

9. South Carolina (+1500)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Frank Martin\u2019s first year in South Carolina was miserable, but you have to expect him to be able to slowly turn things around. Martin has had too much success in the past, and this team will buy into his system over time.<\/p>\n

10. Mississippi (+1500)<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll go on the record as saying I\u2019m no fan on the Marshall Henderson act. He can shoot, but he needs to learn to pass the ball once in a while. Look at his shooting percentages and you\u2019ll see that sometimes he hurts this team more than he helps them. He\u2019ll be jacking up too many shots again this year. The Rebels lost a lot of talent from last season.<\/p>\n

11. Vanderbilt (+5000)

\n13. Mississippi State (+2500)
