College basketball season is just around the corner. Team media days have come and gone and practices are now in full swing. The first games of the season come on November 8. CappersPicks is going to give you a look at power rankings in many different conferences. <\/p>\n
The Pac-12 is next on the list. The Pac-12 has been very strong in football, but they weren\u2019t very good in basketball last year. How competitive will this conference be this year? Included by each team name is odds to win the Pac-12 from BetOnline<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Preseason Coaches Poll<\/strong><\/a> (Link)<\/p>\n 1. Arizona (+175) <\/p>\n Aaron Gordon was the huge pickup in the offseason for the Wildcats. Gordon is going to be on a lot of highlight reels this year. It isn\u2019t just Gordon though, the Wildcats are deeper than anyone in the conference. <\/p>\n Nick Johnson is a very good all-around player, and T.J. McConnell should be a great fit at point guard. Arizona should pull away from the rest of the Pac-12 this year.<\/p>\n 2. Oregon (+500) <\/p>\n I like what Dana Altman is doing in Eugene. Mike Moser transferred in from UNLV, and if he fulfills his potential this team could be extremely good. Dominic Artis gives the team a play maker at the point guard spot. Damyean Dotson flies under the radar, but he\u2019s an important piece as well. The Ducks should be very good.<\/p>\n 3. Colorado (+300) <\/p>\n If Andre Roberson hadn\u2019t left early, the Buffs would have been my second ranked team in the conference. Losing their interior presence and shot blocker will hurt this team. The Buffaloes have a great leader in point guard Spencer Dinwiddie. Tad Boyle has established himself as a high quality coach.<\/p>\n 4. UCLA (+350) <\/p>\n Steve Alford is the new head man in Westwood. The Bruins had an up and down season last year. Muhammad is gone, but the Bruins still have a trio of super sophomores. This team is tough to get a good read on going into the year. Expect another up and down season for UCLA.<\/p>\n 5. California (+800) <\/p>\n Allen Crabbe is gone, but the rest of the team is back. Jabari Bird is a five-star recruit who could come in and be the team leader right away. The Golden Bears are ranked higher here than they are by most experts. I think Cal could sneak up on some people.<\/p>\n 6. Stanford (+800) <\/p>\n Stanford was a major disappointment last year. After winning the NIT in 2012, they were a popular pick to win the Pac-12. Instead, they finished a game worse than the year before. The Cardinal should have a better season this year. There\u2019s too much talent here for them to finish much worse than this.<\/p>\n [ad-6571516]<\/p>\n 7. Arizona State (+1500) <\/p>\n Jahii Carson is probably the best player in the Pac-12. He doesn\u2019t have enough help to make this team great, but the Sun Devils will be a lot of fun to watch this year. Herb Sendek\u2019s team could easily get into the NCAA Tournament.<\/p>\n 8. Washington (+1200) <\/p>\n The Huskies relied too heavily on C.J. Wilcox last year, and I worry they\u2019ll do the same this year. This isn\u2019t the same fast-paced team they were a couple years ago.<\/p>\n 9. Oregon State (+2000) <\/p>\n Oregon State has some major question marks. Eric Moreland is one of their best players, but he is suspended to start the season. The Beavers has been improving though, so they\u2019ll stay out of the cellar.<\/p>\n 10. Utah (+2500) <\/p>\n The Utes aren\u2019t nearly as talented as many of the other teams in this conference, but they play hard all the way to the final buzzer.<\/p>\n 11. Southern Cal (+5000) <\/p>\n Andy Enfield should give this team some more energy, but he\u2019s going to need more talent than he has right now to compete in this good of a conference.<\/p>\n 12. Washington State (+5000) <\/p>\n Washington State is slowly turning into a bottom-feeder in the Pac-12.<\/p>\n Arizona <\/strong>– The Wildcats are much better than anyone else in this league.
