Few things get a home crowd going like a college football\u00a0 game on Halloween night. Add a national television audience to the mix,\u00a0 and that\u2019s what you have when the Arizona State Sun Devils and Washington\u00a0 State Cougars matchup up in Week 10. <\/p>\n

In their last\u00a0 game, they took down the No. 20 Washington Huskies in grand fashion,\u00a0 tallying 54 points to UW\u2019s 24.<\/p>\n Against Washington State, expect to see a battle between\u00a0 two high-powered offenses. The Sun Devils are in the bottom half of\u00a0 the FBS when it comes to points allowed (26.7 per game, 63rd<\/sup> in the country), but they\u2019re sixth in scoring at 45.4 points per contest.<\/p>\n Like Washington State, ASU finds its offense through\u00a0 the air. The team is just 56th<\/sup> in the nation in rushing,\u00a0 but it more than makes up for it with 332 yards per game through the\u00a0 air. That puts them at 14th<\/sup> in the FBS, due large in part\u00a0 to quarterback Taylor Kelly (18 TD, 7 INT) and do-it-all skill player\u00a0 Marion Grice.<\/p>\n Grice, the team\u2019s leading rusher with 553 yards\u00a0 and 12 touchdowns, is also the team\u2019s leading receiver in terms of\u00a0 scores. He has 33 receptions on the year (third on the roster) for six\u00a0 touchdowns.<\/p>\n Defensively, this team can forget about defending\u00a0 the run. Washington State hasn\u2019t established it yet this season, and\u00a0 it\u2019s doubtful a new plan of attack will be put into play on Halloween\u00a0 night. Plan for the pass, and ASU will be just fine. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n Washington State\u2019s rushing attack hasn\u2019t been\u00a0 just bad this season\u2014it\u2019s been non-existent. The team is pounding\u00a0 the ground to the tune of just 58.4 yards per contest, which puts them\u00a0 as the third-worst running team in the entire country.<\/p>\n Passing, on the other hand, is a completely different\u00a0 story. Head coach Mike Leach\u2019s air-raid attack has allowed this team\u00a0 to become the sixth-best passing team in the country, as they collect\u00a0 373.1 yards per game through the air.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, for Washington State, those yards aren\u2019t\u00a0 resulting in nearly as many points as the Sun Devils acquire week to\u00a0 week. The Cougars are scoring 30.9 points per game, which puts them\u00a0 at 57th<\/sup> in the nation.<\/p>\n Like the Sun Devils, WSU hasn\u2019t played in a game\u00a0 since Oct. 19. They\u2019re coming off of a bye week, which is crucial\u00a0 entering a Week-10 matchup.
