Beating up on Clemson in front of a national audience has done wonders for the Seminoles, who many now have ahead of Oregon for the No. 2 spot in the country, with the team also receiving first place votes in the latest AP poll.<\/p>\n
Florida State has the No. 3 scoring offense in the FBS after their drubbing of Clemson last week.<\/p>\n

The team has eclipsed 40 points in every game this season. The unit rolled in their 51-14 win over Clemson on Saturday. Quarterback Jameis\u00a0Winston threw\u00a0for 444 yards and three scores in the game, adding another score on the ground. His favorite target on the day was Rashad Green who hauled in eight balls for 146 yards and a pair of scores, one of which came from 72 yards out. The team\u2019s 51-point output was the most ever scored by an opponent in Death Valley.<\/p>\n
The Florida State defense was also outstanding, holding a strong Clemson offense to just 14 points on their home turf, and picking off Tajh Boyd twice, also forcing him to fumble the ball in the first quarter \u2013 a fumble that was returned 37 yards for a touchdown.<\/p>\n
North Carolina State\u2019s last game didn\u2019t go quite as well, as they fell to Syracuse by a score of 24-10. Quarterback Pete Thomas had a forgettable day, throwing 151 yards and a score.<\/p>\n
The Wolfpack\u00a0defense had plenty of trouble stopping the Orange\u2019s ground game, with Jerome Smith and Prince-Tyson Gulley\u00a0each rushing for over 100 yards, and a total of 272 yards between them. In total, the Orange rushed for 362 yards against the Wolfpack. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n
The bye week prior to this contest will serve North Carolina State well. Starting quarterback Brandon Mitchell could be ready to return to this weekend\u2019s game against Florida State after testing out his injured foot in warmups and suiting up for their last game. He suffered a broken left foot in the team’s season opener.<\/p>\n
Head coach Jimbo\u00a0Fisher and his Seminoles know the effect even a single loss can have on a team after last season, so don\u2019t expect them to give their game with the Wolfpack away, but it will be extremely difficult for the Seminoles not to suffer a letdown after playing in last weekend\u2019s marquee matchup. North Carolina State has also been strong in the series.<\/p>\n
The Wolfpack are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 meetings with the Seminoles.<\/p>\n
