Johnny Manziel and the Aggies have looked unstoppable on offense, and the Crimson Tide struggled in their opener, yet it\u2019s Alabama who\u2019s giving away nine points in this one.<\/p>\n
Last season\u2019s 29-24 loss has surely been weighing heavily on the minds of the Alabama coaches and players. They would love nothing more than to get some revenge by beating up on Texas A&M this season, but they will need to put forth a better effort than they did in their opener.<\/p>\n

Christion Jones bailed out Alabama in Week 1 against Virginia Tech. The junior wide receiver returned a kick and a punt for touchdowns, and added a receiving score for good measure. Add in Vinnie Sunseri\u2019s interception for a touchdown, and Alabama\u2019s offense might have some explaining to do.<\/p>\n
The fact that the team lost three starting offensive lineman is looking like an issue now. By halftime of their game against the Hokies, the Tide had racked up just 97 yards of total offense, and only 206 yards of offense by game\u2019s end. A.J. McCarron arrived in Atlanta with a boot on his right foot, an injury that was downplayed by Nick Saban, but McCarron completed only 10 of 23 passes for just 110 yards.

\nThe Alabama defense limited Virginia Tech to 10 points, and recorded a defensive touchdown of their own, but they also allowed Hokies running back Trey Edmunds to break off a 77-yard touchdown run.<\/p>\nThe A&M offense certainly hasn\u2019t had any issues. The Aggies have put up 117 points in their first two games, with sophomore quarterback Johnny Manziel leading the way, compiling 552 yards of offense and seven total touchdowns in less than five quarters of work.<\/p>\n
The Aggie defense hasn\u2019t looked quite as good. The unit allowed Sam Houston State running back Timothy Flanders to rack up 170 rushing yards and three total touchdowns, and gave up a 75-yard touchdown reception to Torrance Williams in Week 2, but they\u2019ll get a boost in this game in the form of three players returning from suspension \u2013 cornerback De\u2019Vante Harris, linebacker Steven Jenkins, and defensive end Gavin Stansbury.<\/p>\n
Manziel\u2019s schoolyard antics on the football field caused Alabama a world of trouble in last year\u2019s meeting, and Johnny Football has only gotten better at his craft. It\u2019s the Crimson Tide who enter this game atop the AP poll, but it\u2019s the Aggies who enter in better form.<\/p>\n
The week off will certainly help Alabama, and they\u2019re always dangerous when coach Saban has extra time to prepare, but no one\u2019s established a blue print for stopping Manziel thus far, and with the game being played at College Station, an upset isn\u2019t out of the question.<\/p>\n
The Aggies are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against SEC opponents.<\/p>\n
