The University of Oregon Ducks and Oklahoma State University Cowboys have accepted invitations to play in the 31st annual Pacific Life Holiday Bowl, 2008 President Larry Baber announced today.\u00a0 The game will be played Tuesday, December 30th at 5 p.m. (PST) at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California.\u00a0 It will be televised nationally on ESPN.\u00a0This will be the first ever meeting of the two universities.<\/p>\n
Oklahoma State and Oregon combine to average about 84 points per game – the Ducks 41.9 and the Cowboys 41.6 – behind two of the strongest running games in the country.<\/p>\n
The Ducks are coming off a 65-38 win over rival Oregon State that cost the Beavers a trip to the Rose Bowl. \u00a0Oklahoma State has three losses in its past five games, but they’re to Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma.<\/p>\n
