PGA Betting Predictions<\/h2>\n

The PGA Pros move from England to Canada this week for the second straight National Open. The RBC Canadian Open will take place at a familiar spot – Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario where the Canadian Open has been held 25 times. <\/p>\n

\n Course: Glen Abbey Golf Club<\/strong>
\n Date: Jul 25-28, 2013<\/strong>

\nDefending Champion<\/strong>: Scott Piercy ($936,000)
\n Odds from Bovada<\/a><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Pros will be happy to be away from Muirfield, but Glen Abbey will likely be a test this week especially since dry and hot conditions promise to keep the course firm and the greens lightning fast. Glen Abbey has traditionally been average on TOUR when it comes to fairways and greens hit. A good all around game with a penchant for aggressiveness will likely pay off this week. As always, a hot putter will also help.<\/p>\n

So let’s take a look at some names to watch this week in the RBC Canadian Open. It is a watered-down field after the British last week but the huge contingent of RBC sponsored players will tee it up.<\/p>\n

The Favorites:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Brandt Snedeker 12\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Played pretty well at the British Open last week apart from a 79 in the second round on his way to a T11. He has gone T17, T8, T11 in last three starts and he does have a good history at Glen Abbey \u2013 a T5 in 2009. Sneds is due for a win and it could come against this slightly watered down field.<\/p>\n

Hunter Mahan 18\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mahan loves this tournament \u2013 he hasn\u2019t missed a cut in Canada in eight tries. He like Snedeker has been very competitive of late \u2013 two top 10s in his last four starts including last week. He is a guy that expended a lot of energy last week and with WGC Bridgestone coming up next week may not have the foot on the pedal like in weeks past. Still, he has to be in the conversation this week based on present form.<\/p>\n

Matt Kuchar 18\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

I thought he would contend last week but ended up a respectable T15. He has made 20 straight cuts with six top 10s and sits sixth on TOUR in adjusted scoring, T14 in par-4 scoring and T3 in par-5 scoring. Kuchar\u2019s all around game and ability to stay in the moment could serve him well this week.<\/p>\n

The Contenders:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Luke Donald 20\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Has yet to secure a win on TOUR this year surprisingly but against an average field could break through this week. He is a former #1 in the world and certainly can\u2019t be discounted.<\/p>\n

Charl Schwartzel 20\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Has quietly put together three straight top 15s including a T15 last week. His present form can\u2019t be denied \u2013 nor can his ability to score on Par 5s. He may be the best of the bunch this week and is an intriguing 20\/1.<\/p>\n

Dustin Johnson 22\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Was in contention last week but eventually faded to a T32 finish. He is a bomber that should eat up the Par 5s this week. He is currently T28 in strokes gained-putting, 26th in adjusted scoring and T31 in par-5 scoring average. He is yet another A- player that could emerge this week. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n

Graham DeLaet 28\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Canadian boy looks to make good on his home turf. DeLaet is playing some good golf ahead of his National Championship \u2013 nine straight cuts made and five straight top 25s. He is T8on TOUR in par-4 scoring and T10 in par-5 scoring which should certainly help him on this track. No Canadian has won this tournament since 1954 \u2013 the pressure will definitely be on!<\/p>\n

Ernie Els 28\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Finished T26 last week as he attempted to defend his British Open crown but he did record a win only a month ago in Germany. He has been playing well \u2013 four top six finishes in his last eight starts.<\/p>\n

Hideki Matsuyama 33\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Matsuyama may not be under the radar for much longer after a T10 at the U.S. Open and T6 at The Open. He has the all around game to contend on any track and has shown he isn\u2019t intimidated in the least out there.<\/p>\n

The Sleepers (50\/1 or higher):<\/strong><\/h3>\n

David Hearn 50\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another Canadian playing well right now is an intriguing 50\/1. Last time out he lost in a five-hole playoff at the John Deere Classic, the fourth top 25 in his last six starts. He hasn\u2019t fared well in his country\u2019s Championship in the past but it appears he\u2019s peaking for this week\u2019s run.<\/p>\n

Daniel Summerhays 50\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Has gone T9, T4 to losing in a playoff at the John Deere in his last three starts \u2013 playing the best golf of his career. He is worth a mention based on form alone and although he has no history on this course could emerge Sunday.<\/p>\n

Morgan Hoffman 55\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n

He\u2019s been top 25s in each of his last four starts including a pair of top 10s and now ranks 70th on TOUR in strokes gained-putting, 14th in par breakers, 45th in adjusted scoring and T14 in par-4 scoring.<\/p>\n

The Pick:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

You gotta love Hunter Mahan<\/strong> this week at 18\/1. He has played in the final pairing of the last two National pens and has stumbled. He will be out for some redemption this week as he finally breaks through and finally wins an Open. The US or British Open would have been much more satisfying but Mahan has all the tools to win in Canada.<\/p>\n

Further down the list I like Graham DeLaet<\/strong> at 28\/1\/ He has been playing very well minus the British Open. He leads the PGA TOUR in greens hit and should be in the mix Sunday.<\/p>\n

My sleeper this week is another Canuck. David Hearn<\/strong> at 50\/1 will be looking to avenge his playoff loss at the John Deere and enters in the best form of his career.<\/p>\n
