It\u2019s not often that we get this close to the NBA Draft with so many issues still to sort out at the top of the board. However, what this class lacks at the top it makes up for with depth. Plenty of big names will be chosen on Thursday night in Brooklyn, and when teams get together like this, alert-bettors are always looking to cash-in. <\/p>\n
Here are five plays worth considering. Odds courtesy of Bovada.lv<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The Cavaliers have made it clear that they will be drafting a big man No. 1, leaving Kentucky center Nerlens Noel and Maryland center Alex Len as their speculative targets.<\/p>\n There\u2019s a lot not to like about Noel \u2013 he\u2019ll be the lightest center in the NBA, he tore the ACL in his left knee in February, and his offensive game leaves a lot to be desired.<\/p>\n What has teams drawn to Noel is his tremendous athleticism for a big man and his ability to impact the game at the defensive end of the court.<\/p>\n As for Len, he\u2019s a project that Cavs owner Dan Gilbert likely won\u2019t want to wait on. It\u2019s also important to remember that Len is dealing with an injury of his own as he suffered a partial stress fracture in his left ankle back in April.<\/p>\n There\u2019s been speculation that the Cavs are trying to trade the top pick, but unless their asking price comes way down it\u2019s unlikely that they\u2019ll be able to reach an agreement. Any team looking to move up to the top spot would likely be eyeing Noel anyway.<\/p>\n It\u2019s also worth noting that three of the last five No. 1 overall draft picks played for John Calipari.<\/p>\n The play: Nerlens Noel (-150)<\/strong><\/p>\n In a deep draft with a lot of moving parts, the one constant has been Otto Porter slotted in at No. 3. If you\u2019ve been keeping an eye on all the latest mock drafts sprawled across the web, you\u2019ll have noted that few players have remained in the same spot on the board for very long. Porter is the exception.<\/p>\n Porter fills a need in Washington as a wing that can play defense and create plays, and his connection to the area is obvious after two years at Georgetown.<\/p>\n The play: Otto Porter (+150)<\/strong><\/p>\n There\u2019s a chance that the sophomore guard out of Michigan goes in the first five picks, but if he doesn\u2019t, New Orleans will gladly scoop him up. [ad-6571516]<\/p>\n The Pelicans selected their big-man of the future in Anthony Davis a year ago, and this year they\u2019ll look to remedy their most glaring organizational need. Greivis Vasquez served as a nice placeholder at point guard this season, but they\u2019ll need to make an upgrade at the position if they hope to contend anytime soon. Burke would be a perfect fit.<\/p>\n The play: Under<\/strong><\/p>\n The Gonzaga star\u2019s long hair and great hustle have made him a fan favorite, but Olynyk is a strong candidate to fall down the draft board on Thursday.<\/p>\n Olynyk wasn\u2019t even on the NBA radar entering his junior season at Gonzaga, so he should be congratulated for having a great year, but his stock has fallen in recent weeks. Expect to see him taken late in the first round.<\/p>\n The play: Over<\/strong><\/p>\n Hardaway Jr. is a great fit for team\u2019s looking for help in the short term. After three years at Michigan under John Beilein, Hardaway Jr. is ready to step into a contributing role for an NBA team from day one.<\/p>\n Hardaway Jr. is a sure-fire first round pick, and there\u2019s been chatter that some teams are looking to move up to get him in the middle of the first round.
