Detroit is sitting at the top of a bunchy American League Central right now.<\/p>\n
They won the opener of their series against Seattle last night pushing their road record to over .500 for the season. <\/p>\n

Buy Razor Ray’s MLB Picks Today!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n All assumptions about an improved lineup have turned out to be true so far as Detroit is leading the Majors with a .307 average so far this season.<\/p>\n The power hasn\u2019t been there yet but you have to think that with sluggers Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder it will come around eventually.<\/p>\n Starter Max Scherzer had a fantastic season last year. He was among league leaders with 231 strikeouts and it looks like he has finally figured out how to harness his elite level stuff.<\/p>\n This season the strikeouts have been there and he looked much sharper in his second game than his first. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n His career record against the Mariners is 4-1 and Seattle is still not a very intimidating offensive team. This is a nice spot to play Detroit as a slight underdog.<\/p>\n They may have moved in the fences in Seattle but the offense hasn\u2019t suddenly come alive.<\/p>\n The Mariners are batting a paltry .219 this season which has more than offset the fact that they have jacked a few more balls out of the yard this season. The pitching has let them down too with an E.R.A in the lower third of the league.<\/p>\n Something had to give and I wonder if they are going to look at the decision to shrink the field as a mistake in the long run.<\/p>\n After a sterling start on opening day King Felix Hernandez has been mortal the last two times he took the mound.<\/p>\n We all know by now that sometimes he is a little unlucky but it is still hard to bet against him – especially when you see that he owns a 9-2 career mark against Detroit. The addition of OF Torii Hunter to the Tigers lineup could help the Tigers as the veteran has had good success against Hernandez.<\/p>\n This one is a hard one to call this evening in game 2 of the series.<\/p>\n Home teams that lose G1 and are favoured the next night are often a good bet though.<\/p>\n O\/U Pick: Over<\/strong> Detroit Tigers (8-5) vs Seattle Mariners (6-9) Detroit is sitting at the top of a bunchy American League Central right now.
