Another typical weekend in the NFL has passed \u2013 there certainly were some upsets that affected the Rankings in a big way. Remember a few weeks back when the NFC dominated the top end of the Rankings? Now it is AFC teams that have crept up and now occupy four of the top six. It`s officially stretch time \u2013 the cream is definitely rising to the top! <\/p>\n
Enough talk \u2013 let\u2019s get on with Dave B\u2019s Week 14 edition of the Rankings!<\/p>\n
1. TEXANS<\/strong> (1) \u2013 Finally the defense showed up for the Texans. After two brutal weeks the total team put one together in a division game \u2013 and they didn`t need overtime! Houston is still the team to beat and an obvious #1.<\/p>\n 2. PATRIOTS (3)<\/strong> \u2013 The Patriots have now won six straight games to win the division crown for the fourth straight year. They have the Texans and 49ers the next couple of weeks \u2013 they could be #1 with victories in the next couple of games!<\/p>\n 3. FALCONS<\/strong> (4) \u2013 The Falcons are the top team in the NFC but they seem to barely get it done every week. Atlanta is #3 because of their record alone \u2013 their play on the field would put them in the 7-9 range don\u2019t you think?<\/p>\n 4. BRONCOS<\/strong> (5) \u2013 the Broncos have won seven straight games and suddenly look like a serious threat in the AFC. I still like the Texans and Pats better in the AFC but the Broncos and their complete, balanced offensive and defensive team look mighty dangerous with their MVP QB.<\/p>\n 5. 49ERS<\/strong> (2) \u2013 The Niners have lost to and tied the St. Louis Rams the last month \u2013 incredible. Now with the Rams out of their way, maybe the 49ers can get back to dominating. Will it be with Colin Kaepernick or Alex Smith?<\/p>\n 6. PACKERS<\/strong> (9) \u2013 The Packers are creeping closer to the Bears in the NFC North and have been playing good ball despite tons of injuries on both sides of the ball. With Aaron Rodgers however they have to be considered a contender.<\/p>\n 7. COLTS<\/strong> (11) \u2013 will make the playoffs this year \u2013 incredible! They are 8-4 and showed that they are never, ever out of a game in Week 13.<\/p>\n 8. RAVENS<\/strong> (6) \u2013 I just can\u2019t rank them high after losing to Charlie Batch and the Steelers. They are winning ugly when they win and don\u2019t look like that team that was supposed to be elite this season.<\/p>\n 9. BEARS<\/strong> (7) \u2013 Too low? The Bears got exposed at home and may have lost a couple of cogs to their insane defense to injury. Simply put \u2013 I wasn\u2019t all that impressed by the Chicago Brandon Marshalls.<\/p>\n 10. GIANTS<\/strong> (8) \u2013 came off the bye and soundly defeated the red-hot Packers but lost at Washington in Week 13. They are top 10 but just barely at this point!<\/p>\n 11. SEAHAWKS<\/strong> (13) \u2013 the Hawks are 2-5 on the road and perfect at home where they play three of their last four games. Seattle went into Chicago Sunday and impressively beat the Bears. Russell Wilson was quite a find – hey? [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n 12. BENGALS <\/strong>(12) \u2013 have won four straight games and are tied for the final Wild Card spot. Andy Dalton, AJ Green and Benjarvus Green-Ellis have been terrific during their streak, making the Bengals a very scary team to play going forward.<\/p>\n 13. BUCCANEERS<\/strong> (10) \u2013 no shame in getting beaten by a very good Broncos team in Week 13.They are still very talented and are within a sniff of the NFC playoff picture. But they have to hope Seattle, Dallas and Washington stumble.<\/p>\n 14. STEELERS<\/strong> (14) \u2013 turned in a road performance for the ages \u2013 a win with Charlie Batch at pivot in Baltimore. With Big Ben threatening to come back soon, Pittsburgh should stay in the top 15!<\/p>\n 15. REDSKINS<\/strong> (15) \u2013 Big win over the Giants Monday night. Robert Griffin and Alfred Morris have given Skins fans serious reason for optimism for sure. The defense is getting better as well!<\/p>\n 16.
