Houston<\/strong><\/p>\nI am among the many who was impressed with Houston\u2019s win at Chicago last week. \u00a0[soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n
It was a messy, messy game and the Texans used their defense and running game to prevail. It wasn\u2019t a shocker but it confirmed that this team is doing more than just beating up on AFC weaklings in building that record. \u00a0If they are feeling sore at all this is the perfect opponent as the Jags certainly aren\u2019t packing much of a punch this season.<\/p>\n
Defensive end J.J. Watt\u2019s sack pace may have cooled but Houston\u2019s defense has been hot. After giving up 42 points to the Packers they have given up just 28 in the three games since – all victories including games against Super Bowl contenders Chicago and Baltimore. \u00a0QB Matt Schaub isn\u2019t doing anything fancy but with the way the rest of the team has been built they don\u2019t need him too. \u00a0He is unlikely to sling his way to another 4000 yard season this year.<\/p>\n
In the NFL we don\u2019t usually see numbers as large as this one as it pretty much takes the best team in the league against the worst to make it happen. \u00a0That is what is happening here so don\u2019t dismiss it automatically. \u00a0Houston has already beaten the Jags by 20 on the road so topping that at home is totally logical and likely. \u00a0I just don\u2019t like giving that much chalk. \u00a0I will be passing but fire away.<\/p>\n
