The Detroit Lions are hanging by a thread right now. They are already 3 games behind the Bears in the division and have lost their only two division games to this point as well. <\/p>\n

Yes they can make up some ground but all of the team they will have to beat have better records than them and a couple of are looking like real contenders. \u00a0They absolutely have to win this one and despite their struggles I am surprised the number isn\u2019t bigger.<\/p>\n

Detroit has the second best passing attack in the league but what has happened to Megatron Calvin Johnson. \u00a0The last two games he hasn\u2019t topped 80 yard receiving combined and has just one TD on the season after scoring 16 last season. \u00a0I have a hard time believing the league suddenly figured out how to cover him. \u00a0If they can get him on track than their lack of a running game will be even further marginalized.<\/p>\n

Detroit has to win and will. \u00a0I think they can get Johnson going in this one provided the field isn\u2019t sloppy due to weather. \u00a0If it is then this is anyone\u2019s ball game because Detroit is not a great team when things get ugly. \u00a0They should be able to make things miserable for Jags QB Blaine Gabbert though (like that is hard). Jacksonville<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jacksonville is probably the worst team in the league and things are getting worse with Maurice Jones Drew not in the lineup. \u00a0They are back home after two road losses looking to break a 4 game losing streak against Detroit. \u00a0Given how bad this team is and Detroit\u2019s ability to put points on the board it is surprising the line is so slim on this one. \u00a0Here is an interesting tidbit about Jacksonville.: They are 4-0 ATS on the road and 0-3 ATS at home.<\/p>\n

The Jaguars are the worst offensive team in football. \u00a0They are last in yards, passing yards and points and whatever they might have expected in the running game is gone with MJD sidelined. \u00a0Blaine Gabbert doesn\u2019t get much help but he is also terrible. \u00a0I don\u2019t know what management saw in him and they should honestly bench and try and start over if they really do think he has a future…I don\u2019t.<\/p>\n

Those home\/road ATS splits are interesting and don\u2019t seem to make much sense for a horrible team. \u00a0The Jags have never drawn well either so go figure. \u00a0Still I think a SU and ATS loss are going to be the order of the day against Detroit this weekend. \u00a0They are going to struggle in all phases and make the Lions look like a team to be reckoned with…no small feat.<\/p>\n
