The Chiefs lost their 4th in a row last Sunday and things don\u2019t get much easier with back to back road games against San Diego and Pittsburgh. \u00a0 <\/p>\n
Kansas City Chiefs (1-6) vs San Diego Chargers (3-4) ATS Matchup Stats<\/a> | Gambling Insight!<\/a> | Buy Ray’s Picks!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n San Diego should be embarrassed after losing to Cleveland but the Chiefs have little to be proud of either of late.<\/p>\n The bounce back season some were expecting has not materialized and this team will compete for the top draft pick in the league come April.<\/p>\n QB Matt Cassel returned against the Raiders and played all right.<\/p>\n What\u2019s weird is that the running game was working against Oakland and they didn\u2019t try and exploit it more. \u00a0They were ripping off 5 yards a carry yet let Cassel throw the ball 30 times which puts too much on a QB who is turnover prone.<\/p>\n Weirder still was the comment from coach Romeo Crennel that he doesn\u2019t know why running back Jamaal Charles wasn\u2019t more involved. \u00a0If he doesn\u2019t know then who does?<\/p>\n The Chiefs certainly deserve to be 9 point underdogs on the road, especially against an opponent that has already smacked them down at home like the Chargers did already this season.<\/p>\n Still there is some value as San Diego is wildly unpredictable and likely to be pressing after last week\u2019s miserable performance.<\/p>\n There is ugly football and then there was last week\u2019s San Diego-Cleveland contest, a 7-6 final with the Chargers on the losing end. \u00a0I have no crystal ball but it is the kind of game that ought to get somebody fired (Norvell?). [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n The loss cost them ground in the AFC West as well as some confidence and they will hope to get both back this weekend hosting division rival Kansas City, another league bottom feeder.<\/p>\n The Chargers are in the division race but they make it hard to believe in them as they can look pretty good one week and downright ugly the next. \u00a0I like that they seemed to have settled on Ryan Mathews as their feature back – ending his battle with Jackie Battle.<\/p>\n Last week against Cleveland he rushed for a season high 95 yards and they are steadily giving him more attempts.<\/p>\n This is a good sign as QB Phillip Rivers has not been very consistent this season.
