Alex Smith seems to have reverted back to his 2010 self with two straight brutal games however. It is a good thing for the running game and a top notch defense \u2013 the Niners are still a force in the NFC East despite some below average QB play.<\/p>\n San Francisco`s passing game has been awful this season \u2013 even Vernon Davis has looked out of sorts the last couple of weeks. They are #1 versus the pass, tenth versus the run giving up an average of just 98 yards per game and they allow just 14.29 points per game \u2013 good for second in the NFL.<\/p>\n The Arizona Cardinals come into Monday night`s showdown riding a three game losing streak. John Skelton has been underwhelming to say the least \u2013 he lacks the arm strength and escapability to succeed at this level. He has even been able to make Larry Fitzgerald look average \u2013 no easy task. The Cards are 26th in passing in the league.<\/p>\n The running game hasn`t been a whole lot better! They are 27th in the NFL averaging just under 90 yards per game. No Ryan Williams and no Beanie Wells means no relief for the running woes that have plagued the Cards all season long. They are 4th against the pass allowing just 191 yards per game but they are 20th against the pass. Arizona has had the ability to keep their opposition off the score sheet too \u2013 they allow 16.86 points per game good for 4th in the NFL.<\/p>\n Betting Prediction<\/strong>:<\/p>\n 7 points seems a bit high doesn`t it? I have seen the line as low as 4 points! Bottom line \u2013 this is going to be a defensive struggle with a field goal likely being the difference.
