This week, the Sprint Cup series hits the midway point of this year\u2019s Chase to the title with the running of the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. \u00a0<\/p>\n
NASCAR Sprint Cup Bank of America 500 Saturday night\u2019s race is slated to start at 7 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally ABC.<\/p>\n Matt Kenseth survived a huge multi-car wreck on the final lap of last week\u2019s race to take the checkered flag at Talladega. Jeff Gordon ended-up second and Kasey Kahne finished third.<\/p>\n The following is a closer look at our favorite, contender, and longshot for this Saturday night\u2019s race along with their current odds to win as provided by WagerWeb.<\/p>\n Jimmie Johnson lost some ground in the Chase after getting caught-up in last Sunday\u2019s final-lap wreck, but was still able to hold onto second-place in the Sprint Cup standings with 2165 points that has the No.48 car just 14 points out of the lead. Johnson has been opened as a one of the favorites to win this race at +550, but he has had his share of problems at this track in recent years.<\/p>\n He finished a disappointing 34th in last year\u2019s race and could only manage an 11th-place finish in the first race at Charlotte this season.<\/p>\n To his credit, the five-time Sprint Cup champion does have six career victories at this track and an average finishing position of 11.8<\/p>\n The hottest driver in the Chase is Jeff Gordon with three-straight top-five finishes. The No.24 car has actually placed third or better in six of its last seven point races. [ad-8757089]<\/p>\n Fueled by this impressive run, it has climbed all the way to sixth in the standings and is now just 42 points out of the lead after barely making the Chase as the final wildcard.<\/p>\n Gordon has been opened at +1000 to finally break through with a victory this Saturday night after so many close calls.
