No. 22 Arizona Wildcats (3-0) vs No. 3 Oregon Ducks (3-0) Matchup<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Preview<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The Arizona Wildcats already have one upset-victory this season against a high-powered offense. They took down the then-ranked No. 18 Oklahoma State Cowboys in week two, who is averaging the most points per game in all of college football.<\/p>\n Arizona\u2019s season has been a resounding success thus far, as new head coach Rich Rodriguez has them vying for their fourth victory of the year this weekend\u2014a mark that took them all 12 games to reach in 2011.<\/p>\n On paper, the Oregon Ducks aren\u2019t too unlike the Cowboys. Both have great running attacks, both are a top-5 offense and both give up a similar number of points per game. The difference? We\u2019ve yet to truly see what the Ducks have to offer.<\/p>\n Arizona can watch as much game tape as they\u2019d like, but all they\u2019re likely to see is short drop-off passes in the flat and running backs sprinting past slower defenses for highlight touchdowns. If Oregon opens up the playbook on Saturday, the Wildcats better be ready.<\/p>\n The defense has been solid for Arizona, but they\u2019ve yet to venture away from the confines of Arizona Stadium. Traveling to Autzen will be tough, as it is hands-down one of the loudest and rowdiest places for opponents to play in all of college football.<\/p>\n Like the Wildcats, Oregon runs an up-tempo, no-huddle offense. Averaging the fourth-most rushing yards in the nation, the two-headed attack of Kenjon Barner and De\u2019Anthony Thomas has helped this team dominate the competition thus far.<\/p>\n Barner has been a workhorse for the Ducks, having carried the ball 56 times for six touchdowns without playing much in the second halves of games. Thomas has touched the ball far fewer times, but his touchdowns are stacking up at an astronomical rate, as he\u2019s compiled seven scores on just 24 touches in the rushing and receiving games.\u00a0\u00a0[soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n The Ducks are averaging 54 points per contest, and while their 329 yards per game on the ground is what they\u2019re known for, they\u2019ve also established a respectable 267.3 yards per game through the air.<\/p>\n Redshirt freshman quarterback Marcus Mariota has been as sharp as fans hoped he\u2019d be. He\u2019s completed 75.3 percent of his passes, and he\u2019s thrown eight touchdowns to just one interception. The man behind center has looked great so far, but Arizona will be his first true opponent. The Wildcats have allowed just 18.3 points per game this season, and if the Ducks aren\u2019t ready, we could see ball-control issues early and throughout the contest.<\/p>\n If one thing is clear about this week\u2019s matchup, it\u2019s that offense will be the name of the game. Each team has a solid defense\u2014with the edge likely going to Oregon\u2014but this game is going to be played fast and furious the whole way through.<\/p>\n Arizona hasn\u2019t won at Autzen stadium since 2006, and don\u2019t expect that to change this time around.
