Week 2 of the NFL season is done and what a week it was! There are definitely some teams emerging already as contenders but there were some previous contenders that laid an egg and fell down the Rankings. Parity is a real thing in the NFL \u2013 the proof is in the Power Rankings! \u00a0<\/p>\n
Enough talk \u2013 let\u2019s get on with Dave B\u2019s Week 3 edition of the Rankings!<\/p>\n
1. 49ERS<\/strong> (2) \u2013 It is impossible not to love what the 49ers are doing so far this season \u2013 defense and offense are clicking! Impressive and relatively easy wins against Green Bay and Detroit have San Francisco at an easy #1<\/p>\n 2. FALCONS<\/strong> (6) \u2013 dismantled the Broncos in the first three quarters last night and are a perfect 2-0 on the season. It is difficult to imagine anyone slowing this offense isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n 3. TEXANS<\/strong> (4) \u2013 Pretty easy schedule so far but the Texans look terrific in every aspect of the game \u2013 defense, passing and running the ball. We\u2019ll see if they remain top 3 when they run into some competition.<\/p>\n 4. PACKERS<\/strong> (5) \u2013 Their Week 1 loss to the Niners doesn\u2019t look so bad now after their shellacking of the Bears. The defense was the star on Thursday night \u2013 a good sign for all you Packers fans!<\/p>\n 5. PATRIOTS<\/strong> (1) \u2013 The Pats O-line was brutal on Sunday in an inexcusable loss to the Cardinals. Aaron Hernandez is gone for a month to make matters worse. #5 on the Rankings may be a tad generous but I always give the Pats the benefit of the doubt.<\/p>\n 6. EAGLES<\/strong> (12) \u2013 two wins, nine turnovers. I can\u2019t believe they are getting it done! That said, with a win over the Ravens they have to be in the top 6.<\/p>\n 7. RAVENS<\/strong> (3) \u2013 let one slip through their hands against the Eagles but this team is balanced and should bounce back to justify their top 10 Ranking.<\/p>\n 8. STEELERS<\/strong> (11) \u2013 Imagine what this team will look like when they are healthy! They handled the Jets in Week 2 to follow a close loss to the emotionally charged Broncos \u2013 all without key starters. Pittsburgh is solid and will look scary when they get their starters on offense and defense back.<\/p>\n 9. GIANTS<\/strong> (13) \u2013 Eli, Eli, Eli! This team has to start playing better on defense especially or their top 10 position on the Rankings will be short-lived!<\/p>\n 10. BRONCOS<\/strong> (9) \u2013 The Broncos fell victim to some uncharacteristic mistakes by Peyton Manning in Week 2 \u2013 otherwise they looked fairly good! Losing on the road in Atlanta is no shame \u2013 most have the last few years and most will this year!<\/p>\n 11. CHARGERS<\/strong> (16) \u2013 have defeated their first two opponents rather handily without a running game. Ryan Matthews should return this week making a sneaky Chargers team even more dangerous. Two wins for SD in September \u2013 it just doesn\u2019t sound right!<\/p>\n 12. CARDINALS<\/strong> (22) \u2013 are the most unlikely 2-0 team in the league \u2013 luck that the Pats Stud kicker had a brain cramp with no time remaining in Week 2! Still, an undefeated team has to be in the top 15.<\/p>\n 13. LIONS<\/strong> (10) \u2013 The Lions were battered by the 49ers in Week 2 but so were the Packers! The offense is struggling which is a scary thought for all of you Lions fans! [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n 14. COWBOYS<\/strong> (7) \u2013 The Cowboys got their lunches handed to them in Seattle \u2013 maybe the Hawks have a better defense than even I think! That said Dallas is too talented on both sides of the ball to fall outside the top 15 in the Rankings.<\/p>\n 15. BEARS<\/strong> (8) \u2013 Yikes \u2013 did I watch the 2011 Bears on Thursday night. Chicago looked out of sync and the O-line was brutal! They are top 15 by a thread based on their Week 1 win.<\/p>\n 16.
