The second-round of MLB Interleague Play heads into its final weekend of action this Friday, but there are several series that still have some unfinished business on Thursday\u2019s slate. <\/p>\n
We have thoroughly done our homework to uncover two pitching matchups in Thursday\u2019s schedule of games to provide a parlay that promises to get your weekend off to a great start.<\/p>\n
Game 1- Colorado Rockies vs. Philadelphia Phillies<\/strong> Matchup<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Preview<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The Rockies will turn to Jeff Francis as their starter in the series finale. The left-hander settled down in his second start of the season after getting rocked for eight runs on 10 hits in his first outing this year. Overall, he has now pitched 8 2\/3 innings and has given-up 12 runs on 18 hits after a 3-6 stint in the minors with an ERA of 3.72.<\/p>\n Vance Worley will be on the mound for the Phillies. He has suffered from a lack of run support in a 3-3 start, but his 2.80 ERA remains the best in Philadelphia\u2019s starting rotation. The right-hander has given-up a total of seven earned runs in his last four starts.<\/p>\n Colorado has lost 23 of the last 28 meetings heading into Wednesday\u2019s Game 2 and with Tuesday\u2019s 7-2 loss it is now just 1-6 in its last seven games in Philadelphia. The Phillies have been anything but consistent this season, but reliable enough to secure the front-end of this parlay with a win. The right-hander has given-up 11 earned runs on eight hits and nine walks in his last two starts to fall to 4-5 on the year. He now has an overall ERA of 3.92 ERA in a total of 13 starts.<\/p>\n Daisuke Matsuzaka is scheduled to be on the mound for Boston. After spending over two months of the season on the DL, the right-hander has given-up seven earned runs on nine hits in his first two starts. He has recorded 11 strike outs while surrendering four walks in these two outings.<\/p>\n After losing the series opener 7-5 as 134 road underdogs, the Marlins have dropped to 2-7 in their last nine games against Boston and 1-4 in their last five games at Fenway.
