Chicago White Sox (34-28) vs St. Louis Cardinals (32-31) PITCHING MATCHUP:<\/strong>\u00a0White Sox RH Gavin Floyd (4-6, 5.37 ERA) vs. Cardinals RH Jake Westbrook (4-6, 4.25 ERA)<\/p>\n Matchup<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Preview<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Chicago<\/strong><\/p>\n Tonight they are looking to bounce back after getting dominated by the Cardinals Lance Lynn last night. \u00a0It was the second time they have been shutout in the last week, surprising for a club ranked 5th in the Majors in runs per game. \u00a0A series win on the road would give them some momentum before visiting the Dodgers over the weekend.<\/p>\n When you look at starter Gavin Floyd\u2019s peripheral numbers they should lead to better success. \u00a0He strikes out more than 3 times as many batters than he walks and gives up just a hit per inning which means that he might be victim of what some of the experts like Joe Peta call cluster luck, where big damage happens as a result of timing (that might balance out over time). \u00a0The hard thing is trying to figure out when that luck might turn. \u00a0I like the value on the White Sox tonight.
