The 2012 MLB regular season has already seen a few underdogs get off to a fast start in their division while a few favorites continue to dig an early hole for themselves in theirs. <\/p>\n
While this unpredictability has made handicapping the games a bit more of a challenge, we have pored over all pertinent stats and information available for the pitching matchups on Tuesday\u2019s slate of games and uncovered a two-team parlay that promises to get this week off to a great start.<\/p>\n
Game 1- Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds Pittsburgh will look to close the gap with the Reds in the NL Central with A.J Burnett on the mound in this one. The right-hander allowed 12 runs in an early May start against the Cardinals but has given-up a total of eight runs in his other seven starts combined.<\/p>\n He has an ERA of 3.60 and a 1.24 WHIP. Burnett is 3-3 against Cincinnati with a 4.91 ERA.<\/p>\n Homer Bailey will get the start for the Reds on Tuesday night. He is 4-3 on the year with a 3.73 ERA and coming off a four-hitter against the Pirates in his last start. The Right-hander has not given-up more than three earned runs in eight of his last nine starts.<\/p>\n He is 6-0 against Pittsburgh with an ERA of just 1.79. This game could also be a solid play on the \u2018under\u2019, but take the Reds in the first-half of this parlay.<\/p>\n Game 2- Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Colorado is expected to go with Jeremy Guthrie as its starter on Tuesday night. He lasted a full seven innings in his last outing but gave-up five earned runs on 12 hits to the Astros. The right-hander is 3-3 overall with a 5.48 ERA, but better on the road with a 2-1 record and 2.22 ERA.<\/p>\n Ian Kennedy is slated to be on the mound in this game. He is coming off a quality start against San Francisco in which he held the Giants to one run on five hits in over seven innings of work.<\/p>\n Overall, the right-hander is 4-5 with a 4.26 ERA. He is 1-1 against the Rockies with a 3.13 ERA.<\/p>\n The Diamondbacks are 4-0 in Kennedy\u2019s last four starts against Colorado. The Rockies are 5-12 in the last 17 meetings heading into Monday night\u2019s game and 9-24 in their last 33 trips to Arizona.
