Devils vow better effort to even series in Game 2 Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n The New Jersey Devils found out what three teams in the Western Conference had already found out – the Los Angeles Kings are absolutely on fire and are nearly impossible to beat at the moment. On Saturday night the Devils will attempt to snap the Kings’ uber-impressive nine game road win streak in order to take the series to the West Coast tied 1-1. <\/p>\n Los Angeles Kings at New Jersey Devils<\/strong> Matchup<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Preview<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The Kings are one win away from tying the record for road wins in the Stanley Cup Playoffs \u2013 an amazing streak that has been characterized by opportunistic offense, stifling defense and superb goaltending. In Game 1 Los Angeles only allowed 17 shots on goal on their way to a third overtime win in three tries during this post season.<\/p>\n Los Angeles, the third best offensive team so far in the playoffs only generated 25 shots of their own but the four lines each contributed with some sustained pressure at various times of the game. Missing from New Jersey\u2019s game was the speed and the forecheck that terrorized teams earlier in the playoffs.<\/p>\n The good thing about the lack of forecheck is that it is an aspect of the game that is easy to get back. Attention to details and strong adherence to their system should mean a return of the pressure hockey that has defined the Devils so far in the postseason. Generating some more shots will also help! There was a 14 minute stretch during the second period of Game 1 in which the Devils failed to register a shot on goal for a total of 17 in the game \u2013 not nearly good enough!<\/p>\n Betting Prediction<\/strong>: The Kings\u2019 road winning streak stands at 9 during these playoffs. It has to end sometime doesn\u2019t it? With the way the Kings have looked however, it is very difficult to imagine anyone stealing one. But have faith Devils fans \u2013 the Kings are due for a minor let down and after New Jersey got their own let down out of the way in Game 1, all signs point to a Devils win.
