The 2012 MLB regular season is off to a somewhat unpredictable start with a few underdogs blazing a trail in their division while a few favorites continue lag behind the leaders. <\/p>\n
This has made handicapping the games more of a challenge, but after sifting through all the pertinent stats and information available for the pitching matchups on Tuesday\u2019s slate of games, we uncovered a two-team parlay that promises to get this week off to a great start.<\/p>\n
Game 1- Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets Joe Blanton is slated to get the start for Philadelphia on Tuesday night. He coming off two straight disastrous outings in which he gave-up four home runs to Boston and seven runs on 10 hits to St. Louis last Thursday. The right-hander is now 4-4 on the year with a 4.55 ERA. Lifetime against the Mets he is 3-1 with an ERA of 3.71.<\/p>\n Jeremy Hefner will be on the mound for New York. The rookie right-hander was rocked by the Padres in his last start; giving-up six earned runs in just 3.2 innings. He is now 0-2 on the year with a 6.17 ERA. Hefner will be making his first career start against Philadelphia.<\/p>\n The Phillies are 11-4 in Blanton\u2019s last 15 starts against the NL East but just 2-8 in their last 10 games against the Mets. <\/p>\n Stick with Philadelphia in the front end of this parlay has Blanton is due for a solid outing after his last two duds. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]<\/p>\n Game 2- Washington Nationals vs. Miami Marlins Edwin Jackson will look to return to his winning ways in this game after losing his last start to fall to 1-2. The right-hander has an ERA of 3.38 and a 1.01 WHIP, but has given-up three of more earned runs in three of his last five starts. He is 1-3 with a 7.17 ERA against Miami.<\/p>\n The Marlins will send Anibel Sanchez to the mound in this game. After coming through with eight straight quality starts, the right-hander gave-up five runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings. <\/p>\n He is now 2-3 overall but boasting a 2.87 ERA. He is a perfect 7-0 against the Nationals with a 2.10 ERA.<\/p>\n Miami is 8-1 in Sanchez\u2019s last nine starts against the Nationals at home and 6-2 in his last eight starts overall. Washington is 16-35 in its last 51 trips to Miami.
