The Spurs did it again, winning in impressive, albeit different fashion. \u00a0This time, like \u00a0a cat playing with a mouse they let their opponents think they were in the game, getting down by as many as 24 points before turning it on and winning going away. <\/p>\n
San Antonio Spurs (3-0) vs Los Angeles Clippers (0-3) Matchup<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Preview<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n San Antonio<\/strong><\/p>\n Their ridiculous winning streak is now at 17 games and will likely be run to 18 by taking game 4 for the sweep. \u00a0They are 15-1-1 during that streak so they have been a great ATS play as well.<\/p>\n In the third quarter the Spurs gave up only 8 points to the Clippers while scoring 26. \u00a0That was enough to make the 4th quarter a moot point and have sportswriters everywhere pen the Spurs can\u2019t be beat.<\/p>\n It is hard to argue but if ever the run was going to end you would think this would be the spot: \u00a0on the road, home team in danger of elimination, second game of back to back, older team.<\/p>\n Let\u2019s see if it all adds up.\u00a0[soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n Los Angeles<\/strong><\/p>\n This is the kind of game that could dictate whether the Clippers really are a contender in the making or just a team with \u00a0a couple of shiny pieces. \u00a0They had the Spurs right where they wanted them after the first quarter on Saturday but failed to control their opponents over the next three leading to another double digit loss.<\/p>\n Can they really stop the bleeding today?<\/p>\n Would you bet on it?<\/p>\n Blake Griffin had his best game of the series but Chris Paul is still struggling mightily. \u00a0His scoring has evaporated while his defense is hardy slowing Tony Parker down. \u00a0The only way they win this potential eliminator is if someone can put the team on their shoulders for a game.<\/p>\n It doesn\u2019t look like Paul or Griffin will.<\/p>\n Maybe Nick Young or Mo Williams has what it takes.<\/p>\n
