The Los Angeles Clippers used an epic comeback to steal the first game of the series by a point. \u00a0They outscored the Grizzlies by 22 points in the final quarter to win and take command of the series on the road. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Los Angeles Clippers (1-0) vs Memphis Grizzlies (0-1) Matchup<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Preview<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Los Angeles<\/strong><\/p>\n This is pretty heady stuff for a franchise that is often considered one of the worst in sports. \u00a0They can really put the Grizzlies in a hole if they can win game 2 on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n Critical to the comeback was the shooting of guard Nick Young who led the team with 19 points. \u00a0Stars Chris Paul and Blake Griffin had subpar games which only makes their positioning in the series that much more valuable now. \u00a0L.A. has now won three of the four meeting between the clubs this season and is showing they might have more of an edge than originally thought. \u00a0Credit players like Reggie Evans and Kenyon Martin for that.<\/p>\n Memphis<\/strong><\/p>\n The loss in the series opener was brutal for the Grizzlies. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n \u00a0Not only were they one of only a couple teams to lose on their homecourt in the NBA playoffs but the way they did so makes you question the heart and desire of the club. \u00a0It was one of those losses that can be really hard to get over, especially for a club that is very young in its core. \u00a0It just goes to show what can happen when you play not to lose instead of to win.<\/p>\n Still some things went right for Memphis. \u00a0They were an amazing 11 for 16 from deep including an unexpectedly accurate night for point guard Mike Conley who was 5 for 5. \u00a0O.J. Mayo was also sharp shooting (4 for 6 from deep) and Marc Gasol was effective down low with a double-double. \u00a0Zach Randolph was a disaster and the 4th quarter an absolute mess but other than that things went according to plan.<\/p>\n
