The Washington Wizards are on a rare two game winning streak heading into New York Friday night. \u00a0 <\/p>\n
Washington Wizards (14-44) vs New York Knicks (30-28) Matchup<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Preview<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Washington<\/strong><\/p>\n They are letting point guard John Wall and a group of other young players run the court now looking squarely to the future. \u00a0It has made for some ugly losses when they face good competition but at least you can see what management has in mind for next year and beyond.<\/p>\n At this point in the season the Wizards can still play spoiler in Eastern Conference. \u00a0They haven\u2019t beaten New York since 2010 so it might be a bit of a long shot but they have a bit of momentum and might be overlooked by their opponent. \u00a0With their roster shakeup they aren\u2019t necessarily good but they can be \u00a0a little challenging to prepare for. \u00a0Who knows what you are going to get with these guys.\u00a0[soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n New York<\/strong><\/p>\n The Knicks are clinging to a slim lead over Milwaukee in the race for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. \u00a0Hardly a desirable spot but better than being in the opposite role. \u00a0New York just won at Milwaukee so it could be easily be in a letdown spot Friday, especially given how easily they have handled the Wizards of late. \u00a0This team is wildly unpredictable making them hard to back in any situation.<\/p>\n Linsanity is over for this year. \u00a0In fact with Amare Stoudemire done for the season too it is a really different team then we saw a month ago. \u00a0With those two out the Knicks have no choice but to lean heavily on Carmelo Anthony. \u00a0In 4 of his last 8 games he has scored 32 or more points but they are playing with a drastically smaller lineup with Anthony essentially playing the 4 spot. \u00a0Against Washington that shouldn\u2019t be too much of a problem.<\/p>\n
