You have to hand it to NC State for pushing the Tar Heels about as far as possible. \u00a0Sure North Carolina was without John Henson, but that was an inspired effort by the Wolfpack – maybe it earned them a bid. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
ACC Final Matchup<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Preview<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n North Carolina<\/strong><\/p>\n Now Carolina gets another shot at FSU, a team that embarrassed them earlier in the season. \u00a0Henson\u2019s status is still unknown but I would wager that he doesn\u2019t play given this game doesn\u2019t really matter all that much – other than for pride.<\/p>\n With Henson out senior center Tyler Zeller was the best player on the floor for UNC. \u00a0He shot 8 for 11 from the field and finished with 23 points and 9 rebounds. \u00a0The bulk of Henson\u2019s minuted went to freshman forward James McAdoo. \u00a0He was alright but the best things you could say about his play was that he didn\u2019t try and be Henson. \u00a0He let the game come to him and scored 9 points. \u00a0He just isn\u2019t the defensive presence Henson is. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n Florida State<\/strong><\/p>\n The Florida State Seminoles won yet another close game, beating Duke by three points to earn a birth in the ACC Championship game. \u00a0Their win over UNC earlier in the season put this team on the national landscape and another one will run them up the seedings. \u00a0Right now they are probably a 4 but an ACC Championship, their first ever in hoops, should get them at least a three, which is huge because they get to avoid a #1 seed for longer.<\/p>\n Not that these guys are afraid of them. \u00a0It was another strong defensive effort by FSU that got them here. \u00a0The \u2018Noles held Duke to just 30% from the field for the game, making their own 32% look like vintage UCLA efficiency. \u00a0They rely on two players to get them points, guard Michael Snaer and center Bernard James. \u00a0Both came through leading the team to victory. \u00a0I think they still have one more in them.<\/p>\n
