New York has to be the most frustrating team in the league this year. \u00a0 <\/p>\n
Wednesday February 8 Matchup<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Preview<\/a><\/p>\n New York<\/strong><\/p>\n At the end of last year they looked like a budding contender and now they sit currently out of the playoffs grasping at how they are going to play from game to game. \u00a0Not a single player they were counting on has played up to expectations, especially forward Amare Stoudemire, who amidst some injuries has looked very lethargic out there.<\/p>\n This is his worst season after a career year last year.<\/p>\n While Stoudemire struggles Carmelo Anthony shines…just not very consistently.<\/p>\n For pure scoring in this league he is tough to beat but he has been inconsistent and is expected to be out Wednesday night with a minor ailment. \u00a0In fact, Stoudemire is not expected to be available either due to a family matter which makes you wonder who is going to step up against the Wizards.<\/p>\n Tyson Chander, Jeremy Lin, Toney Douglas? \u00a0Who? \u00a0It is not a great crop to pull from.<\/p>\n Washington<\/strong><\/p>\n The Washington Wizards seem to be catching the Knicks at the perfect time due to the lineup shuffling they are likely to see on Wednesday.<\/p>\n But is there really a perfect time for a team that has won just 5 games all season long?<\/p>\n What is up with these guys, there is some talent there to work with even though I think point guard John Wall is overrated. \u00a0They actually enter this game off a win, looking to make it two in a row for the first time this season. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n The reason I am not a big fan of Wall is his offensive game.<\/p>\n He has made just one 3 point shot all season long (he doesn\u2019t take a ton, thankfully) but that is a huge problem for a team loaded mostly with other athletes. \u00a0Watching them on offense is hard to do because it is a lot of one on one stuff that makes it easy for helpers to defend because of a lack of outside threats.<\/p>\n I like their chances against a depleted Knicks squad but this team is seriously flawed.<\/p>\n
