The Longhorns who have won three of their last five will travel to Manhattan on Wednesday to take on a Kansas State Wildcats’ team that has now lost three of its last four, dropping seven spots out of this week’s AP Top 25 poll. <\/p>\n
Date\/Time: 9:00 PM ET, Wednesday, January 18, 2012 Texas currently sits in fourth place in the Big 12 standings and is 2-2 in conference play after falling off the pace against No. 9 Missouri, who used a fast start to push past the Horns’ 84-73 on Saturday.<\/p>\n The Longhorns shot 9-of-16 from 3-point range but could do nothing to stop Missouri on the opposite end.<\/p>\n J`Covan Brown led the way in scoring for the Longhorns with a big 34 points in 38 minutes, including 18 from three-point range. Myck Kabongo added a game-high 10 assists. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n As for the Wildcats, they fell to 1-3 in Big 12 play for the second straight season, and have now lost two in a row, including an upset by the Sooners, 82-73, in Big 12 action their last time out.<\/p>\n The then No.18 Wildcats were expected to win this one, but Oklahoma, which lost its first three conference games by a combined 56 points, had no trouble with the Wildcats. The Sooners took a 38-29 lead at halftime and maintained a double-digit lead throughout the majority of the second half. <\/p>\n The Cats’ leading scorer, Rodney McGruder, had a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds while Nino Williams and Jeremy Jones finished with 12, and Will Spradling added 11.<\/p>\n Jamar Samuels, K-State\u2019s big senior forward, finished with nine points and a game-high 11 rebounds.<\/p>\n This will be one of the best matchups this week as both teams are evenly matched and looking to tie up sole possession of fourth place in the conference with a big win. <\/p>\n
