Reeling Wizards Host High-Scoring Warriors<\/h2>\n

The Golden State Warriors (5-8 SU, 6-7 ATS, 9-4 O\/U) have dropped two straight games in the BetUS Sportsbook. Still, their recent woes are nothing in comparison to those of the Washington Wizards (1-10 SU, 3-8 ATS, 5-6 O\/U) who are off to one of the worst starts in franchise history.<\/p>\n

Losers of each of their last five games, the Wizards finally fired head coach Eddie Jordan on Monday, finalizing a move I have been suggesting the last two seasons.<\/p>\n

The franchise has named personnel guy Ed Tapscott as the interim coach and for his faithful dedication, he gets to try to help the Wizards snap their five-game skid, beginning tonight.<\/p>\n

“That’s an unacceptable record, obviously,” team president Ernie Grunfeld said. “We had to do something. The way we’re losing games was unacceptable.”<\/p>\n

Washington\u2019s latest loss was a 122-117 road loss at New York on Saturday as the Wiz failed to cover the spread for BetUS NBA sports betting<\/a><\/strong> backers as a 2.5-poit road underdog.<\/p>\n

“This is not the end of the season. This is not the end of the world,” Wizards forwards Antawn Jamison said. “We’ve got to move forward.”<\/p>\n

The team must have finally seen what I knew years ago, that they need to actually play some defense despite having three all-stars on the roster in Jamison, Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler.<\/p>\n

Tapscott will immediately try to address the team’s defense as Washington has allowed 103.5 points per game this season with opponents draining a whopping 47.5 percent of their shots against the Wizards.<\/p>\n

“We’ve been a little sieve-like, letting people go down the lane,” Tapscott said. “Our philosophy will be: ‘Protect the rim and the lane.'”<\/p>\n

The Wizards will host a Warriors team that is coming off an 89-81 road loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday in a rare, low-scoring affair.<\/p>\n

“It’s all part of getting better and learning,” second-year forward Brandan Wright said. “It’s no excuse, but we’re not going to get down on ourselves.”<\/p>\n

The Warriors got just 19 combined points from their two leading scorers, veterans, Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette, who shot a combined 7-of-24 from the field.<\/p>\n

Golden State will have a new weapon In shooting guard Jamal Crawford whom the team acquired from the Knicks on Friday.<\/p>\n
