Week 16 of the NFL season is on tap with a bunch of crucial games for a host of teams. A number of marquee matchups are featured in the Cappers Picks Weekly Handicapping Preview \u2013 Week 16. <\/p>\n

WEEK 15 ATS PICKS RECORD:<\/strong> 1-2-1 Saturday, December 24, 1:00 PM ET The New York Giants and the New York Jets come into Saturday\u2019s showdown having lost in disappointing fashion in Week 15. Both teams are desperate in their fight for a playoff spot \u2013 a loss by either would almost certainly ruin their chances at a post season berth.<\/p>\n The Jets are 1-5 ATS following a loss, 1-4 ATS after allowing more than 30 points their previous game, and 4-0 ATS in their last four Saturday games. The Giants are 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 games as a road underdog of up to three points, 6-2-2 ATS following a double digit home loss, and 6-1 ATS in their last seven Saturday games. The Giants are 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings of these two.<\/p>\n The Jets are officially the home team in this one but the game takes place in the G-Men\u2019s home stadium as well. With the Giants getting healthier and with the Jets defense getting exposed somewhat last week against Philadelphia, I like the Giants to put a miserable loss last week behind them. The Giants have a knack of following up a brutal game with a much better one. My faith is gone in the Jets!<\/p>\n Pick:<\/strong> New York Giants +3<\/p>\n Saturday, December 24, 4:05 PM ET Two teams on modest win streaks meet with their playoff lives on the line on Saturday. The San Diego Chargers, winners of three straight games travel to Detroit to take on a Lions team that has won two in a row. December is definitely \u201cChargers time\u201d. Will it continue?<\/p>\n San Diego, despite winning three straight games is just 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall, 3-6 SU in their last nine. On the road, the Chargers are 2-4 SU in their last six games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight. The Lions are 1-5 ATS in their last six games but are 13-5 SU in their last 18. At home, Detroit is 6-3 SU in their last nine games and 1-4 ATS in their last five. The Chargers are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against Detroit.<\/p>\n The Chargers absolutely dominated Baltimore on Sunday night and showed that they are a totally different team that the one that we saw earlier in the season. Everything is going well for San Diego! This game will be a shootout for sure but with more weapons at his disposal, I like Philip Rivers to guide his team to victory on Saturday. San Diego has looked tremendous in December \u2013 Detroit has looked just OK.<\/p>\n Pick:<\/strong> San Diego Chargers +1 \u00bd<\/p>\n Saturday, December 24, 4:15 PM ET The Dallas Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Game of the Week in my opinion. The Cowboys and the Eagles are both coming off very impressive Week 15 wins in games that both looked outstanding. Only one of these teams is in a playoff race but will that motivation be enough for the Boys to cover the Spread? [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n The Eagles are 6-3 SU in their last nine games on the road but are just 2-4 SU and ATS in their last six games against Dallas. The Cowboys are 1-4 ATS in their last five games but are 5-2 SU in their last seven. Dallas is just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games at home but is 4-1 SU in their last five on home turf.<\/p>\n Dallas has been a Jekyll and Hyde team all season long. The one constant is their inability to show up in big games and cover the Spread. With Philadelphia playing much better of late and finally getting healthy, I like them to win outright on Saturday. In a heated division rivalry game, anger may be the biggest motivator and after a substandard season, Philadelphia has the anger edge.<\/p>\n This week is Philadelphia\u2019s Super Bowl. Look for them to come out and all-but-end their hated rival\u2019s push toward a playoff spot. Dallas crumbles in a way that only they know how!<\/p>\n Pick<\/strong>: Philadelphia Eagles +1 \u00bd<\/p>\n Saturday, December 24, 4:15 PM ET Defense will be on display on Saturday when the San Francisco 49ers head to Seattle to take on a Seattle Seahawks team that has won three straight games and has put themselves into an NFC playoff race. The 49ers however are still in a battle for home field advantage in the playoffs and looked superb on Monday night against the Steelers.<\/p>\n The San Francisco 49ers are 10-2 SU in their last 12 games but are just 6-15 SU in their last 21 on the road. The 49ers are 2-6 SU in their last eight trips to Seattle and are 2-5 ATS in their last seven visits to the Pacific Northwest. The Seattle Seahawks are 5-1 SU in their last six games and are 6-3 SU in their last nine at home.<\/p>\n This will be a battle for sure \u2013 defense will be the key! In that vein, the 49ers have to be favored based on their Monday night performance. It will be tough \u2013 Seattle is superb on home turf.
