The Have-Nots of the NFC West take on the Haves of the NFC West in San Francisco this Sunday in what is the mismatch of the weekend. <\/p>\n
ST. LOUIS RAMS (2-9) vs. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (9-2)<\/strong> The St. Louis Rams bring a 2-9 record into the game against a 49ers squad that is 9-2 and looking to avenge a 16-6 loss to the Ravens on Thanksgiving Day.<\/p>\n The Rams are plain awful \u2013 there is not a whole lot to like. The offense is dreadful and the defense is among the worst in the NFL. It has already been a long year in St. Louis and Sunday\u2019s game against the league\u2019s best defense isn\u2019t going to make it any shorter.<\/p>\n St. Louis owns the 26th ranked passing offense and the 21st raked rushing offense and they are second last in points for per game \u2013 12.73! Yuk. Sam Bradford has regressed like no other quarterback that I\u2019ve seen in a long time. He has just 6 touchdown passes versus 5 interceptions this year. Thank goodness for Steven Jackson although he has struggled mightily as well. <\/p>\n Jackson followed up a brutal 42 yard effort in Week 11 with just 64 yards in Week 12. Jackson has not hit pay dirt in four games and now he has to face the #1 run defense \u2013 the San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n St. Louis defense has been bad \u2013 dead last against the run and 8th against the pass \u2013 nobody has to pass because they can run wild! The Rams gave up 228 yards to a struggling Beanie Wells last week \u2013 not good!<\/p>\n The San Francisco, despite losing last week can clinch their division with a win on Sunday \u2013 WEEK 13! This team has been getting it done with defense and a little sprinkle of Frank Gore in there as well. The Niners do what all good teams do \u2013 they run and they stop the run!<\/p>\n San Francisco\u2019s offense won\u2019t wow you \u2013 they are ranked 29th in passing and 7th in rushing. Alex Smith isn\u2019t lighting the world on fire with only 13 touchdown passes this season but he isn\u2019t hurting them either having only thrown five interceptions this year. He was sacked nine times last week \u2013 something that the 49ers are going to have to correct. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n Frank Gore was the 49ers offense but he has slowed over the past few weeks. Gore has followed up five straight 100 yards games with a total of just 127 yards in his last three games. Gore will find success against the Rams brutal run defense.<\/p>\n Defensively, San Francisco is #1 in rush defense (75.55 yards per game) and scoring defense (14.64 points per game allowed). Their weakness is against the pass but the Rams have absolutely no passing game to speak of anyway.<\/p>\n Betting Prediction:<\/strong> The St. Louis Rams are 2-10 SU and ATS in their last 12 games and are 1-6 SU and ATS in their last seven on the road. The Rams are 1-5 SU in their last six games against San Francisco and are 5-9 ATS in 13 games against the 49ers.<\/p>\n The San Francisco 49ers are 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 games and are 9-0 ATS as favorite. In their last eight games at home the 49ers are 7-1 SU and 7-0-1 ATS.<\/p>\n If we have learned one thing this season it is that the 49ers will cover the spread! Even if the number is high, San Francisco has found a way to get it done. 13 points is a little high for my liking \u2013 I think it is going to be a run dominated, lower scoring game.
