There are some intriguing matchups in Week 10 \u2013 games that should shape the landscapes of both the NFC and AFC. Although marquee matchups are sometimes difficult to handicap, there is absolutely no avoiding them this week. So here we go with the Cappers Picks Weekly Handicapping Preview \u2013 Week 10.<\/p>\n
WEEK\u00a09 ATS PICKS RECORD:<\/strong> 3-1-0 Sunday, November 13, 1:00 PM ET This is a rather tough game to call. On the one hand you have the Atlanta Falcons who have won three straight games and have looked so-so while doing so and on the other you have the New Orleans Saints who were supposed to be \u201celite\u201d but haven\u2019t quite shown it since Week 1. It is a rare pick\u2019em game between two teams fighting it out in the AFC South.<\/p>\n New Orleans is 6-2 SU in their last eight games but is just 2-4 SU and 1-5 ATS in their last six on the road. The Saints are 4-1 SU in their last five against Atlanta and are 4-1 SU in their last five trips to the Superdome. However, New Orleans is 2-4 ATS in their last six versus the Falcons. Atlanta is 4-1 SU in their last five games and is 18-5 SU in their last 23 at home.<\/p>\n Atlanta has been playing some surprisingly good defense this season but Drew Brees is a completely different type of challenge. The Saints running game got it together last week and will definitely help Drew Brees pick apart the Falcons defense. Atlanta is good but the Saints are better! Take New Orleans to continue their dominance over the Falcons on Sunday \u2013 home isn\u2019t like it used to be for Atlanta! Pick:<\/strong> New Orleans Saints<\/p>\n Sunday, November 13, 1:00 PM ET The Pittsburgh Steelers head to Cincinnati on Sunday to take on the AFC North leading Cincinnati Bengals \u2013 that\u2019s right, the Bengals are in first place! The Steelers are reeling after a late game collapse against Baltimore \u2013 the Bengals have won five straight games and covered all of them. This will be a true test of how good the Bengals really are!<\/p>\n Pittsburgh still enters the game with an absolute top notch offense and defense \u2013 the likes that Cincinnati hasn\u2019t seen yet this season. The defense will come out blazing in response to their meltdown on Sunday night \u2013 guaranteed and Cincinnati\u2019s surprise defense will be no match against Big Ben! The Steelers are a tier or two above the Bengals in absolutely every category of this game \u2013 the choice is easy! Pick:<\/strong> Pittsburgh Steelers -3<\/p>\n Sunday, November 13, 4:15 PM ET The Chicago Bears will be looking to build on an uber-impressive Monday night effort when they take on a Detroit Lions team that beat them down 45-10 earlier in the season. The Lions return after their bye, hopefully healthy and ready to reassume their position as a team poised to break out this season. Chicago has won three straight games and appears to be playing their best ball of the season at the moment.<\/p>\n Detroit is rested, healthy and has been very good on the road as of late \u2013 5-0 SU and 5-0-1 ATS. Chicago has owned the Lions in recent matchups except for the earlier game this season. They are 6-1 SU versus Detroit in their last seven overall and are 5-1 SU in their last six at home versus the Lions. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n This is a huge statement game for both teams \u2013 both need a win to keep pace for a possible Wild Card berth in the NFC. The Lions were at home, watching the Monday night game scheming and scouting against their Sunday foe. With an extra week to prepare and with the Bears coming off a short week, look for the Lions to have something planned for the intense pass rush of the Bears. But as seen on Monday night, no amount of preparation can limit the effectiveness of Matt Forte. Detroit currently ranks 28th versus the run \u2013 Forte will be the difference! Pick:<\/strong> Chicago Bears -2 \u00bd<\/p>\n Sunday, November 13, 8:20 PM ET For the first time that most can remember, the New England Patriots enter a game without any momentum whatsoever. Two straight losses \u2013 that\u2019s right, two, have Belichek and the boys actually needing a win to stay in the AFC playoff race. Unbelievable! The Patriots sit in a first place tie with the Jets and Buffalo \u2013 needless to say, Sunday evening\u2019s match is of vital importance!<\/p>\n New England has fallen victim to an absolutely brutal defense \u2013 one of the worst units in the league. The question will be whether or not the Jets average offense will be able to exploit New England\u2019s weakness. The offensive edge goes to the Patriots; the defensive edge goes to the Jets by a mile. So who wins?<\/p>\n It is hard to imagine Tom Brady losing three straight contests but if it is going to happen it will be against a Rex Ryan team that was constructed to beat Bill Belichek when it counts! A home-town New York crowd won\u2019t be enough however \u2013 the Patriots offense will out-duel the Jets defense in a bounce-back game. Expect some more Tom Brady magic and a season sweep of the Jets for the Patriots.
