One streak will come to an end on Sunday when the San Francisco 49ers travel to Washington to take on the Redskins. For the 49ers, they put an impressive five game win streak on the line and for Washington; they hope to end a three game losing skid. <\/p>\n
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (6-1) vs. WASHINGTON REDSKINS (3-4)<\/strong> Surprisingly for both teams, they are both in the mix of their respective divisions \u2013 San Francisco may have the NFC West wrapped up by Thanksgiving and the Skins are somehow still alive in the NFC East.<\/p>\n The 49ers have impressed to say the least \u2013 Coach Jim Harbaugh has totally changed the culture of the team. The offense has been efficient and the defense has been plain nasty! They are 3-0 on the road so far this season and look every bit the type of team that sneaks up on the rest of the league and makes an enormous statement.<\/p>\n At first glance, the 49ers offense doesn\u2019t appear to be anything special \u2013 they own the 31st ranked passing game but have the 6th best running game and are 6th best in the NFL in terms of scoring. Frank Gore has been unstoppable particularly in the last four weeks \u2013 he has gone over 125 yards and has recorded a touchdown in each of those games. He is third in NFL rushing with 675 yards. The Washington defense will have their hands full with Gore for sure!<\/p>\n San Fran\u2019s passing game has been efficient but underwhelming this season. One good aspect of their game is that they are avoiding mistakes! The 49ers passing game may not win them many games but for once, they aren\u2019t losing any games either.<\/p>\n Defensively, San Francisco has been superb. They are #1 against the run (73.43 yards per game) and are 21st versus the pass. San Francisco gives up a league low 15.29 points per game.<\/p>\n The Washington Redskins started the season strong but have slipped to an all-too-familiar sub-.500 record. The offense has struggled and the defense has become very generous during their current three game slide. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n Washington\u2019s offense hit a new low last week \u2013 just 178 yards total against a terrible Bills defense (26 yards on the ground). Currently, John Beck and the passing game are ranked 16th in the NFL, the beleaguered running game is 26th and the team is scoring just 16.57 points per game \u2013 not nearly good enough to keep up with the powers of the NFC East. Injuries at key positions in the offense have the Skins reeling and looking anything like the team that went 3-1 to start the season.<\/p>\n Washington`s defense has also struggled as of late. During their 3-1 start, the defense was strong and gave up an average of 296 yards per game. During the three game losing slide, they are giving up 406.3 yards per game. The Redskins are 12th versus the pass and 21st against the run and give up the 7th least points per game in the NFL.<\/p>\n Betting Prediction:<\/strong> The San Francisco 49ers are 5-0 SU in their last five games and are 6-0-1 ATS this season. Against Washington they are 9-3 SU in their last 12, 1-2-2 ATS in their last five and 4-2 SU in their last six. The Washington Redskins are 2-4 ATS in their last six games and are 2-6 SU in their last eight overall.<\/p>\n San Francisco makes their fourth trip east already this season \u2013 there is a chance that all of the travel will bite them at some point. But against a reeling Washington team, it is difficult to imagine. The 49ers are a cohesive bunch \u2013 as complete a team as there is in the NFL right now.
