With another week of byes slated to take place in Week 6, the Waiver Wire becomes even more important. Those who grabbed and started Doug Baldwin or Victor Cruz last week were undoubtedly very happy. So who is this week\u2019s Victor Cruz? <\/p>\n
Below is a list of possible candidates in the Week 6 version of Dave B\u2019s Waiver Wire.<\/p>\n
Tim Tebow \u2013 Denver Broncos \u2013<\/strong> Tebow is on a bye in Week 6 but when his team returns in Week 7 he will be the starter. Tebow is a dual threat QB \u2013 he will rush for his share of yards as well as pass. The Broncos rally around this guy \u2013 he may be worth an add just to stash away for later in the season.<\/p>\n Curtis Painter \u2013 Indianapolis Colts \u2013<\/strong> Painter has passed for 558 yards, four touchdowns and ZERO interceptions since being named starter in Indianapolis. There is no doubt that he has weapons and he knows how to use them.<\/p>\n Matt Cassel \u2013 Kansas City Chiefs \u2013<\/strong> Cassel passed for 4 touchdowns in Week 5 and seems to finally be rounding into form for the Chiefs. KC is going to have to throw the ball more this season \u2013 the running games isn\u2019t close to what it was with Jamaal Charles. With Dwayne Bowe and Steve Breaston in the fold, Cassel could be an OK spot start.<\/p>\n Others to Monitor:<\/strong> Matt Moore \u2013 Miami, Charlie Whitehurst \u2013 Seattle, Christian Ponder – Minnesota<\/p>\n Ryan Torain \u2013 Washington Redskins \u2013<\/strong> I had him on the list last week but he is worth mentioning again for the 1st place Redskins. He is back from a broken hand and rushed for 135 yards and a score in that first game back. Tim Hightower is banged up and Roy Helu isn\u2019t quite ready to assume a bigger role. That leaves Torain to shoulder the load on a very good team!<\/p>\n Jackie Battle \u2013 Kansas City Chiefs \u2013<\/strong> Finally, somebody in KC that can run the ball. Battle received more carries than Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster combined last week and went off for 140 combined yards. He will get a lot of touches going forward behind a very very good offensive line. [ad-8469823]<\/p>\n Jonathan Dwyer \u2013 Pittsburgh Steelers \u2013<\/strong> Dwyer looked great on Sunday subbing for Rashard Mendenhall\u2019s sub Isaac Redman who like Mendenhall went down with an injury.<\/p>\n Others to Monitor:<\/strong> Delone Carter and Donald Brown \u2013 Indianapolis, Earnest Graham and Kregg Lumpkin \u2013 Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/p>\n Doug Baldwin \u2013 Seattle Seahawks \u2013<\/strong> Baldwin was on the radar last week but is now a hot commodity. Baldwin had 8 catches for 136 yards and a score Sunday and now has 13 catches and 220 yards in his last two weeks.<\/p>\n Victor Cruz \u2013 New York Giants \u2013<\/strong> he may already be gone in your league but if not he is an automatic add. Cruz has 369 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns in his last 3 weeks.<\/p>\n Darius Heyward-Bey \u2013 Oakland Raiders \u2013<\/strong> It has been a long time coming but Heyward-Bey has finally emerged with some semi-consistent production. In Week 4 DHB went for 155 yards receiving and in Week 5 he had 99 yards and a touchdown. How many of your receivers can say that?<\/p>\n Others to Monitor \u2013<\/strong> Damian Williams \u2013 Tennessee, Deion Branch \u2013 New England, Harry Douglas \u2013 Atlanta, Kevin Walter – Houston<\/p>\n Jared Cook \u2013 Tennessee Titans \u2013<\/strong> Cook has really benefitted from the injury to Kenny Britt \u2013 he has become the second option for Matt Hasselbeck. On Sunday, Cook was targeted nine times and turned those into four catches and 59 yards. In his last two games Cook has 6 catches and 152 yards.<\/p>\n Jake Ballard \u2013 New York Giants \u2013<\/strong> Ballard has scored in two straight games and has easily replaced Kevin Boss. Ballard has 6 catches, 105 yards and two scores in his last 2 games and is definitely worth a look.<\/p>\n Others to monitor \u2013<\/strong> Aaron Hernandez \u2013 New England, Daniel Fells \u2013 Denver, Jeremy Shockey – Carolina<\/p>\n Washington Redskins \u2013<\/strong> The Skins are playing solid ball \u2013 top 10 in defense in the NFL and are coming out of the bye healthy. They have turnover prone Philadelphia which is tantalizing indeed.
