The Bears got back to winning last week, taking a close one against rookie sensation Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. \u00a0It was somewhat of a stunning result given they were beaten big time in the stats. \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/p>\n
Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions Chicago<\/strong><\/p>\n The only areas where they really outperformed Carolina was in the return game where Devin Hester burned the Panthers with a 69 yard punt return. \u00a0How anyone kicks to him is the league\u2019s biggest mystery.<\/p>\n Chicago might have figured an airtight way to win games…don\u2019t let QB Jay Cutler throw the ball. \u00a0Last week the Bears attempted only 18 passes as Cutler threw for just 102 yards. \u00a0He simply wasn\u2019t required to do much at Matt Forte rushed for more than 200 yards. \u00a0He is having a monster of a season leading the team in both rushing and receiving yards.<\/p>\n While the running game may have been revived Chicago has to be worried about how Carolina shredded them on defense. \u00a0Cam Newton threw for 374 yards and they gave up 162 yards on just 26 carries. Detroit has an even more potent attack which should be very worrisome for coach Lovie Smith. \u00a0What happened to the defense. \u00a0It is getting old fast and when Julius Peppers doesn\u2019t perform they get nothing done.<\/p>\n Detroit<\/strong><\/p>\n Detroit definitely has the look of a team of destiny after last week\u2019s comeback win at Dallas. \u00a0People want to hang it all on the Cowboys QB for imploding but give the Lions some credit – I mean how may times do you see guys drop interceptions that could have been big plays. [soliloquy id=”82219″] <\/p>\n \u00a0The Lions made the plays that were there to be made and have all season. \u00a0That is why they are a perfect 4-0.<\/p>\n Yes the Lions were helped out by Tony Romo last week but it was still a very impressive comeback. \u00a0The amazing thing about this coach\/team is that they don\u2019t give up and have patience. \u00a0Even though they were way down they didn\u2019t seem in a hurry to get it all back on one play. \u00a0This team still has room to improve and they might be getting top pick defensive tackle Nick Fairley into the lineup this weekend.<\/p>\n This is the first of three straight home games for Detroit, a chance to really lengthen their current unbeaten streak. \u00a0Looking at their schedule it is not inconceivable that they might still be undefeated for the first of two divisional games against Green Bay in the latter half of the season. \u00a0If they can get by Chicago, a team they haven\u2019t beaten in their last 6 tries.<\/p>\n ATS Pick: \u00a0Detroit – 5 The CappersPicks.com NFL football weekly predictions pages!
