2011 NFL Football Power Ratings<\/h2>\n

Each week during the heart of the NFL season, and once or twice during the NFL Preseason, we\u2019ll gather the troops around the roundtable and hash out the\u00a0NFL Power rankings<\/strong><\/a>. We check out the stats, looks at the records, and, most importantly, we take a close, close look at the heart of each team. <\/p>\n

Best performance Week 3<\/strong> \u2013 Bills over the Raiders. We now know they play hard, they can score and they don\u2019t get intimidated when they fall behind.
\nWorst performance Week 3<\/strong> \u2013 Eagles losing to Giants. Eagles DBs need to learn how to tackle.
\nBest game Week 4<\/strong> \u2013 Detroit (3-0) at Dallas (2-1). Short week for the Boys, but they\u2019re at home. Chance for Lions to continue to chow down on prey as they look way ahead to Green Bay game in late November.
\nWorst game Week 4<\/strong> \u2013 Minnesota (0-3) at Kansas City (0-3). How the semi-pmighty have fallen.

  1. Green Bay Packers<\/strong> (3-0) \u2013 See that TV feature on Greg Jennings catching two footballs at once? Awesome.<\/li>\n
  2. Detroit Lions (3-0) <\/strong> \u2013 Nick Fairley should be back for this weekend\u2019s game against Dallas. Coal to Newcastle.<\/li>\n
  3. Baltimore Ravens (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Ravens averaging more than five yards on every running play. That won\u2019t keep up, but it\u2019s still impressive.<\/li>\n
  4. Buffalo Bills (3-0) <\/strong> \u2013 Three games in, and the Bills have more points than the Patriots, have allowed fewer points than the Patriots, and have beaten the Patriots after being down 21-0. Something\u2019s fishy here in the AFC East.<\/li>\n
  5. New England Patriots (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Memo to Chad Ochocinco: When Tom Brady throws you the ball, you better catch it. Doug Gabriel, Donald Hayes, Joey Galloway and Reche Caldwell thought otherwise, and their names are now on milk cartons.<\/li>\n
  6. Houston Texans (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 No team has ever given up 40 or more points in a regular season game and gone on to win the Super Bowl that season. I don\u2019t know if that\u2019s true, but it sounds good.<\/li>\n
  7. New Orleans Saints (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Repeat after me: No matter how high the number goes, never never never take the under on a Saints game.<\/li>\n
  8. New York Jets (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Jets defense has sunk to 31st<\/sup> in the league in rushing yards allowed. Think Ray Rice has noticed that?<\/li>\n
  9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 First place in the NFC South. 0-3 Indy coming to town for prime time on Monday night. Rays may get the wild card. Life is good these days in the Tampa\/St. Pete area.<\/li>\n
  10. Oakland Raiders (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Chance to beat Jets and Patriots back-to-back at home. But secondary is hurting \u2013 not good when an angry Tom Brady is headed west.<\/li>\n
  11. New York Giants (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 With Eagles scuffling, Giants figure they might actually have a shot in the crippled NFC East.<\/li>\n
  12. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Yes, a win is a win. But unless they figure out a way to run the ball anything close to what they have in the past, they are going to struggle.<\/li>\n
  13. Dallas Cowboys (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Curious quote from Tony Romo after the win over Washington: \u201cAs long as I don\u2019t turn up in the morgue tomorrow we\u2019re going to be all right.\u201d<\/li>\n
  14. San Diego Chargers (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Antonio Gates has an injured foot. Chargers say he just needs to play through the pain. That\u2019s always easy when it\u2019s someone else\u2019s pain. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/li>\n
  15. Washington Redskins (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Wait a minute. I thought that in today\u2019s NFL you win if you hold the other team to field goals.<\/li>\n
  16. Atlanta Falcons (1-2) <\/strong> \u2013 The loss to the Bucs may signify a changing of the guard in the NFC South. Changings of the guard are never good when you\u2019re the defending division champion.<\/li>\n
  17. Tennessee Titans (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Kenny Britt lost for the season (ACL). Tough break. Plus, Britt has off-field problems and nothing good ever happens when he has time on his hands.<\/li>\n
  18. Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) <\/strong> \u2013 Let\u2019s see if we have this straight. Complaining that the refs are ignoring late hits on him, Michael Vick is playing the victim. Certain irony to that, no?<\/li>\n
  19. Chicago Bears (1-2) <\/strong> \u2013 Lovie Smith is preaching patience as the Bears sink in the NFC North. Haven\u2019t we traversed this road before?<\/li>\n
  20. Carolina Panthers (1-2) <\/strong> \u2013 Panthers won ugly after Newton\u2019s big-numbers efforts in Weeks 1 and 2.<\/li>\n
  21. Cleveland (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Played poorly for three periods before beating the Dolphins. Like hitting your into the woods, then into a trap, but making a 40-footer for par.<\/li>\n
  22. San Francisco 49ers (2-1) <\/strong> \u2013 Kendall Hunter did a good job against the Bengals, but Niners say the job is still Frank Gore\u2019s.<\/li>\n
  23. Arizona Cardinals (1-2) <\/strong> \u2013 Twice in a row the Cardinals have had the ball and a chance to win in the final two minutes. And failed.<\/li>\n
  24. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2) <\/strong> \u2013 Jaguars fire their starting quarterback just before the start of the season, put up a total of 29 points in three games \u2013 and wonder what\u2019s wrong. The answer probably lies in the early part of the previous sentence.<\/li>\n
  25. Seattle Seahawks (1-2) <\/strong> \u2013 Fans are on Tavaris Jackson\u2019s back, even after victory over Arizona. Pete Carroll says to give Jackson some space. As usual, fans are ahead of the curve.<\/li>\n
  26. Miami Dolphins (0-3) <\/strong> \u2013 Buzzards slowly circling over Tony Sparano.<\/li>\n
  27. Cincinnati Bengals (1-2) <\/strong> \u2013 If it\u2019s any consolation, Chad Ochocino stinks and Terrell Owens isn\u2019t playing.<\/li>\n
  28. Denver Broncos (1-2) <\/strong> \u2013 John Fox taking heat for passing up field goal late and offense getting stuffed on fourth-and-goal from the one against Titans.<\/li>\n
  29. Minnesota Vikings (0-3) <\/strong> \u2013 You brought it on yourselves, people of Minnesota. If you hadn\u2019t foisted Tim Pawlenty and Michele Bachmann on us, the Twins might have been decent and the Vikes might be competitive.<\/li>\n
  30. Indianapolis Colts (0-3) <\/strong> \u2013 You really want to bring Manning back in early December when you\u2019re 2-9 anyway?<\/li>\n
  31. St. Louis Rams (0-3) <\/strong> \u2013 Next four opponents have a combined 9-3 record.<\/li>\n
  32. Kansas City Chiefs (0-3) <\/strong> \u2013 Kansas City media is notoriously team-friendly to Chiefs and Royals, but there\u2019s some media talk about being time to take a look at someone other than Cassel.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
