That will be the question as the FedEx Cup playoff field narrows to 100 for the Deutsche Bank Championship this week.<\/p>\n<p>The host track, TPC Boston, rated as the third-easiest par-71 on Tour last season. Add in possible leftover wetness from Hurricane Irene and we could have a dart-throwing contest on our hands this week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date: Sept. 2 &#8211; 5<br \/>\nEvent: Deutsche Bank Championship<br \/>\nCourse: TPC Boston, Norton, Massachusetts<br \/>\nPurse: $8,000,000<br \/>\nDefending Champ: Charlie Hoffman<br \/>\nFEDEX Cup Pts: 2,500<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>THE ELITE<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Luke Donald<\/strong><br \/>\nDeutsche Bank Championship odds: +1200<\/p>\n<p>Donald was a respectable 18<sup>th<\/sup> at the Barclays and his well-rounded game gives him a great chance to score well this week. He won the tourney in 2009 and has finished 13<sup>th<\/sup> or better five straight times at TPC Boston.<\/p>\n<h3>THE CONTENDERS<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jason Day <\/strong><br \/>\nDeutsche Bank Championship odds: +2000<\/p>\n<p>Will Day finish what he started last year? At the 2010 Deutsche Bank, he led after 54 holes, but he settled for a tie with Donald in second place after Charley Hoffman overtook him. Day has threatened more often than not this season, posting nine top-15 finishes in 18 starts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nick Watney<\/strong><br \/>\nDeutsche Bank Championship odds: +2000<\/p>\n<p>Fresh off a 10<sup>th<\/sup>-place at the Barclays. Watney has two victories this season; both were preceded by top-15 finishes, so he tends to tip us off when he\u2019s about to go off. He can putt with the best of them when he\u2019s on and, as he showed with a final-round 64 last week, Watney can go low.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matt Kuchar<\/strong><br \/>\nDeutsche Bank Championship odds: +2000<\/p>\n<p>Kuchar may be the best ball-striker on this list and that bodes well for his chances of setting up bushels of birdie tries this week. He led The Barclays field in putting and finished second to Johnson overall. With nine top-10s to his name this season without a victory, he feels way overdue for a victory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dustin Johnson<\/strong><br \/>\nDeutsche Bank Championship odds: +2000<\/p>\n<p>If Johnson\u2019s putter is on \u2013 and it was when he won The Barclays last week \u2013 he\u2019s awfully tough to stop, as his length alone already gives him an edge on the field. Since Johnson is 16<sup>th<\/sup> on Tour in GIR, he has an excellent chance to attack pins all weekend. He\u2019s a strong play for anyone who doesn\u2019t care about the \u201cback-to-back winners are rare\u201d principle.<\/p>\n<h3>SOLID PICK<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Vijay Singh<\/strong><br \/>\nDeutsche Bank Championship odds: +3000<\/p>\n<p>Watch out for Vijay! He enters the Deutsche Bank riding back-to-back top-fives and he also has the best history of any player at this tourney. Singh is the only two-time winner in field this week, having captured the event in 2004 and 2008, and he also owns the course record at 61. Villegas\u2019 approaches have been white-hot of late. He hit all 18 fairways during last Saturday\u2019s round.<\/p>\n<h3>THE PICK<\/h3>\n<p>Sheesh. It feels like every guy on this list is going to win the Deutsche Bank. That\u2019s what happens when the field shrinks to the 100 best players on Tour this season. But the picks that stand out most to me this week are Stricker, Kuchar and Singh.<\/p>\n<p>Singh is tempting because of his past victories and value. Kuchar just seems like he\u2019ll go off any day now. And some may lean away from Stricker because he offers the lowest return for your bet in the sportsbook.<\/p>\n<p>But it\u2019s my responsibility to tell you who I genuinely believe will win the tournament every week. And, deep down, even though Vijay would be the fun pick, I truly think Stricker takes this.
