Two Western Conference foes do battle on Friday night with the Eskimos leading the way in the West \u2013 right where the Lions envisioned themselves at the beginning of the season. <\/p>\n
BRITISH COLUMBIA LIONS (1-6) vs. EDMONTON ESKIMOS (5-2) After five straight wins to start the season, the Eskimos are coming off a brutal loss and in the midst of a two game losing streak. Perhaps the Lions have caught Edmonton at precisely the right time.<\/p>\n BC is in danger of repeating one of their worst starts in franchise history but to say that they have been getting blown out of games would be a mistake. <\/p>\n BC has been OK \u2013 certainly better than their 1-6 record. Hopes were that the addition of Arlan Bruce would aid this team offensively but last week\u2019s loss proved that one player cannot turn a team around. <\/p>\n Bruce had four catches for 34 yards and Travis Lulay was just 12 of 34 for 103 yards before giving way to Jerious Jackson. Along with Stamps, Adarius Bowman and Jason Barnes are also missing from the Eskimos receiving corp. <\/p>\n As a result, Rick Ray has struggled \u2013 just 245 yards passing last week in a 27-4 loss to Montreal. The running game has hit the skids as well \u2013 a total of minus one yard last week! Ugh!<\/p>\n Over is 6-2 in EDM last 8 vs. West. The Edmonton Eskimos have won three straight games against BC going into Friday night\u2019s game including a win earlier this season. But Edmonton appears ripe for the picking.
