I need to start by stating that I think it is a real shame that USC is not permitted to participate in the Championship Game in the inaugural season of the PAC 12. <\/p>\n

I bring this up because I think the Trojans are going to make it very awkward this season by winning the South Division, meaning that the team that finishes second will get a nice gift at the end of the season. Still it might not matter as whoever it is will likely venture north for the championship tilt.

Don\u2019t forget that the division winner with the best conference record hosts the game. Love that twist as a way of keeping it very interesting and hopefully guaranteeing a soldout crowd for the game. (Is there anything worse than a \u00bd full Georgia Dome?).<\/p>\n

Best Bet – Oregon<\/h3>\n

I am still not sure how they did it but there is a whole lot of talent in Eugene right now, especially on offense. They return their starting quarterback in Darron Thomas, and while they may have lost some players to the NFL, their most explosive performers, (running backs mostly) all return. Scoring should not be a problem for the Ducks but it will interesting to see how their stop unit performs as they are turning over more than half their starters from a year ago. <\/p>\n

They were hoping to have dynamic cornerback\/return man Cliff Ellis available but now that might not happen, which is a blow for both units. Still for now Oregon is looking pretty good and if they beat LSU in the opener – look out.<\/p>\n

Best Value – Utah<\/h3>\n

Utah has been one of the more successful programs of the past half decade but they lost a lot of their shine after three very ugly losses last year (to TCU, Notre Dame and Boise State). They enter the PAC 12 with a returning QB among 13 starters from a year ago.
