2. Alabama Crimson Tide: <\/strong>I\u2019m still not sold on all the preseason hype Alabama is getting. Yeah, the Crimson Tide are strong everywhere except at quarterback, but they\u2019re strong everywhere except at quarterback. <\/em>That\u2019s a big deal to me.<\/p>\n 3. Oregon Ducks: <\/strong>With so much of their team core returning, it\u2019s very believable that they\u2019ll return to the national title game.<\/p>\n 4. LSU Tigers: <\/strong>I\u2019d flip LSU and Alabama. The Tigers are stacked everywhere and, even though Jordan Jefferson hasn\u2019t been great, we at least know what we have with him.<\/p>\n 5. Florida State Seminoles: <\/strong>I\u2019d like to see E.J. Manuel prove himself before giving Florida State top-five status.<\/p>\n 6. Stanford Cardinal: <\/strong>If you believe in the importance of quarterbacking, the Andrew Luck-led Cardinal should be ranked higher.<\/p>\n 7. Boise State Broncos: <\/strong>On paper, they look as strong as anyone, with a dominant offense and defense, but there\u2019s still that bias because of their obscurity.<\/p>\n 8. Oklahoma State Cowboys: <\/strong>The Cowboys are a rare team whose offense can keep pace with Oklahoma\u2019s.<\/p>\n 9. Texas A&M Aggies: <\/strong>The loss of Von Miller hurts the defense but Texas A&M\u2019s offense should improve this season.<\/p>\n 10. Wisconsin Badgers: <\/strong>I personally wouldn\u2019t mind seeing Wisconsin in the top five. They really raised eyebrows with their dominant running game late last year and Russell Wilson makes their quarterback position more dynamic.<\/p>\n 11. Nebraska Cornhuskers: <\/strong>Could Nebraska make a big statement in its Big Ten debut? Taylor Martinez still has room to grow.<\/p>\n 12. South Carolina Gamecocks: <\/strong>Stephen Garcia\u2019s reinstatement is big news for the Gamecocks, who also have the country\u2019s top recruit in Jadeveon Clowney.<\/p>\n 13. Virginia Tech Hokies: <\/strong>Like their secondary and their O-Line. But can they fill the offense voids left by Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Williams?<\/p>\n 14. Arkansas Razorbacks: <\/strong>Some people view the Razorbacks as sleepers. Am I missing something here? No more Ryan Mallett and much of the O-line left with him. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n 15. TCU Horned Frogs: <\/strong>They were undefeated last season so I suppose you have to keep them in the top 15. Still love their \u201cD\u201d but can Casey Pachall pick up where Andy Dalton left off under center?<\/p>\n 16. Ohio State Buckeyes: <\/strong>Terrell Pryor\u2019s departure, not to mention the truckload of other suspended players, ruined the Buckeyes\u2019 top-contender status.<\/p>\n 17. Michigan State Spartans: <\/strong>Kirk Cousins could have his hands full with a tough early schedule but Michigan State\u2019s front seven looks great.<\/p>\n 18. Notre Dame Fighting Irish: <\/strong>Few teams if any have a tougher schedule than the Irish. They\u2019ll be hard pressed to stay ranked.<\/p>\n 19. Auburn Tigers: <\/strong>They\u2019re riding their defending national champion status but their entire friggin\u2019 roster is gone. Silly that they\u2019re even ranked here.<\/p>\n 20. Mississippi State Bulldogs: <\/strong>Can their \u201cD\u201d hold up after all their starting linebackers departed?<\/p>\n 21. Missouri Tigers: <\/strong>James Franklin steps in as the starting quarterback but Blaine Gabbert\u2019s shoes will be tough to fill.<\/p>\n 22. Georgia Bulldogs: <\/strong>I expected to see Georgia ranked higher since so many people are so high on Aaron Murray.<\/p>\n 23. Florida Gators: <\/strong>Whatever happens, it\u2019ll be exciting to see what Charlie Weis does with the offense.<\/p>\n 24. Texas Longhorns: <\/strong>Pfft. They\u2019re getting by on their name. They don\u2019t even have a set starter at quarterback yet!<\/p>\n
