With the Lockout talk in the past, now is time to focus on getting your ducks in order for the impending fantasy season. Who will you take with your first two picks? <\/p>\n
Who is going to carry you to the Fantasy Football promise land?<\/p>\n
Dave B has compiled a list of his Top 20 and predicts the numbers that they will yield for your Fantasy squad. Take a gander and by all means, leave a comment and let me know what you think!<\/p>\n
1. Arian Foster, RB Houston<\/strong> \u2013 Foster won\u2019t catch anybody by surprise this season! This year he is Dave B\u2019s #1 Overall pick. Why? Receptions! He should be close to the rushing leaders in the NHL but his catches will make him the most valuable back in the NFL. Close to 2000 yards and 13-15 touchdown can surely be counted on.<\/p>\n 2. Adrian Peterson, RB Minnesota<\/strong> \u2013 I have to admit, I had little faith in AP but with the arrival of Donovan McNabb, Peterson is now a 1B type of guy. McNabb will make AP better and should get the ball to him out of the backfield. Peterson should win the rushing title with 1500 or so yards and he should get 12-14 touchdowns as well.<\/p>\n 3. Jamaal Charles, RB Kansas City<\/strong> \u2013 6.4 yards per carry last season \u2013 6.4! The only thing keeping Charles from #1 is Thomas Jones who figures to keep Charles below 300 touches again. He should improve upon his 8 tds from last season but don\u2019t expect 15!<\/p>\n 4. Chris Johnson, RB Tennessee<\/strong> \u2013 Johnson, like Peterson has become more attractive recently with the addition of a proven matt Hasselbeck under center in Tennessee. \u00a0Johnson has registered 10+tds in the last 3 seasons, averaging nearly 1500 yards. I see the same this season.<\/p>\n 5. Aaron Rodgers, QB Green Bay<\/strong> \u2013 I may be one that ranks QBs a little high on my board but there is no denying that the prospect of 35-40 tds is tempting. Rogers throws for yards and scored and is also good for 25-20 rushing yards per game. He has been a top two Fantasy Producer in two of the last three seasons.<\/p>\n 6. Ray Rice, RB Baltimore<\/strong> \u2013 Rice had 63 catches last season. In a PPR league those are incredible numbers! With the Ravens clearing out some of their RB dead weight, Rice figures to see a ton of action on a very, very good team. I know I\u2019ve touted him before but this year could be the year of the Rice<\/p>\n 7. Michael Turner, RB Atlanta<\/strong> \u2013 Turner is a battering ram who should be the unquestioned feature back after the Falcons rid themselves of Jurious Norwood. All he does is score. I, like some am not worried about him wearing down toward the end of the season. I think 15 tds is certainly realistic for Mr. Turner.<\/p>\n 8. Maurice Jones-Drew, RB Jacksonville<\/strong> \u2013 I am cautiously optimistic that MJD\u2019s injuries are behind him. One thing is certain, if he is right, he will be the unquestioned focal point of an offense that gets the Colts, the Texans and the Titans twice this season. Worth the slight risk!<\/p>\n 9. Andre Johnson, WR Houston<\/strong> \u2013 AJ has been a Top three Fantasy WR in the last three seasons and last season he was injured almost all year. He is the best in the game, averages double-digit targets each week and is as trustworthy as any Fantasy player. 100 catches, a typical 1500 yards and 10-13 touchdowns lands Johnson in the Top 10.<\/p>\n 10. Calvin Johnson, WR Detroit<\/strong> \u2013 Johnson caught 12 touchdowns last season, from three different QBs and on a bad ankle. He is firmly entrenched in the Top tier of NFL WRs whose upside is as big as any in the game. I see 90-100 catches, close to 1500 yards and an absolute minimum of 12 tds this season.<\/p>\n 11. Michael Vick, QB Philadelphia<\/strong> \u2013 Vick had 30 touchdowns in just 12 games played last season \u2013 amazing. You can bet that Coach Andy Reid will have worked on some schemes to keep this guy healthy this season \u2013 when he\u2019s healthy, he\u2019s money! Along with 3500 yards passing this season, you can count on 50 or so yards rushing per game and up to 8 scores on the ground \u2013 not too shabby at #11.<\/p>\n 12. Rashard Mendenhall, RB Pittsburgh<\/strong> \u2013 Any player that gets 300+ touches on an elite NFL team has to be in the Top 20. Mendenhall will be a workhorse this season and could be a 1500 yard\/15 touchdown guy.<\/p>\n 13. Roddy White, WR Atlanta<\/strong> \u2013 White had a staggering 115 catches last season and with Julio Jones certain to soak up some of the defensive attention, White should have more room to roam this season. 100 catches is almost a certainty \u2013 12-15 tds is as well.<\/p>\n 14. LeSean McCoy, RB Philadelphia<\/strong> \u2013 McCoy is a tremendous asset in PPR leagues \u2013 he may only get 250 or so rushing opportunities but 70-90 catches make him a very attractive option. McCoy is good for at least 11 tds this season with serious upside. Don\u2019t be surprised to see McCoy hit pay dirt 15 times and be a key cog in keeping Mike Vick healthy. [ad-8469823]<\/p>\n 15. Peyton Manning, QB Indianapolis<\/strong> \u2013 Scared? I am a little too. But consider that Manning threw for 4700 yards last season and 33 tds \u2013 all during what was considered to be one of his worst seasons. With Dallas Clark and Austin Collie back, Manning will be better. He has to be \u2013 the Colts still have absolutely no running game!<\/p>\n 16. Drew Brees, QB New Orleans<\/strong> \u2013 4620 yards and 33 touchdowns for Brees was a disappointment last season! Insane. With a better running game this season, Brees will eclipse last season\u2019s impressive numbers \u2013 4500 yards and 35 touchdowns seem to be a lock.<\/p>\n 17. Darren McFadden, RB Oakland<\/strong> \u2013 Rumors have Michael Bush leaving town. Cha-ching! McFadden, barring all-too-familiar injury should approach 250 rushes and 50-70 catches. At least 10 touchdowns should result.<\/p>\n 18. Frank Gore, RB San Francisco<\/strong> \u2013 Gore\u2019s injury concerns have him slipping down my board \u2013 he hasn\u2019t played a full season since 2006! Now comes word of a holdout and a contract battle! When Gore is right, he\u2019s a stud, but something just doesn\u2019t seem right to me!<\/p>\n 19. Greg Jennings, WR Green Bay<\/strong> \u2013 Jennings is a big play guy who makes things happen after the catch. Although he may only catch 80 balls (Andre Johnson, Megatron and Roddy White should be around 100), Jennings will get his scores. 1300-1500 yards and 10-13 scores is what I see.<\/p>\n 20. Tom Brady, QB New England<\/strong> \u2013 The dude is a Stud \u2013 maybe ranked a little low. But consider his lack of weapons and the Pats emerging running game. He\u2019ll be good for sure but not quite as good as last year.
