The next installment of our 2011 Fantasy Football<\/a> Draft Guide – is Dave B\u2019s Fantasy Players to Avoid! <\/p>\n Fantasy Drafts are right around the corner \u2013 time to start considering players that you would love to have on your squad and players that you wouldn\u2019t touch with a 10 foot pole.<\/p>\n Players to avoid, or potential Busts are a part of Fantasy \u2013 the trick is to keep your roster free of risky position players.<\/p>\n How about it, owners? Post your thoughts or comments below this article!<\/p>\n Michael Vick \u2013 <\/strong>I am avoiding Vick in the first two rounds of my Fantasy draft \u2013 if he slips to the third or fourth round, I may change my tune. He is an injury risk with his style of play and it appears as though defenses were able to make adjustments toward the end of 2010. Anyone that scares the hell out of me, I\u2019m avoiding.<\/p>\n Matt Cassel<\/strong> \u2013 The Chiefs are a running team \u2013 period! Sure that may open some lanes for the passing game but I am not buying Cassell as a quality starter for Fantasy. Trust is huge in Fantasy and I just don\u2019t trust Mr. Cassell.<\/p>\n Tim Tebow \u2013<\/strong> Tebow, by all accounts should start for the Broncos this season but his well documented lack of arm strength has me avoiding Tebow at all cost. OK is about all that you can expect from Tebow going into 2011.<\/p>\n Others I am Avoiding: Chad Henne, David Gerrard<\/strong><\/p>\n Maurice Jones-Drew \u2013 <\/strong>Questions surround MJD\u2019s knee ahead of the 2011 season. That and his mouth have me avoiding the Jags Running Back. He plays in an offense void of ANY other playmakers which allows opposing defenses to really key on the diminutive one. He is projected as a Top 5 back still but not for me!<\/p>\n Frank Gore \u2013 <\/strong>Gore is another runner with an injury history. He may turn out another season that lands him in the Top 10 but I am avoiding his situation all together. Gore is still being drafted very high \u2013 my advice is to let him go and focus on a young Back that isn\u2019t as injury prone.<\/p>\n Michael Turner<\/strong> – is another player to be aware of going into 2011. He has amassed an incredible 710 carries in the last two seasons and has had his share of injury issues as well \u2013 he will wear down by season\u2019s end right when you are in the thick of the Fantasy playoffs. He may be productive but I am avoiding Turner as a first or second rounder!<\/p>\n Jahvid Best \u2013<\/strong> Best has been an injury risk since his college days. 2011 will see his split carries with Lions touted draftee Mikel Leshoure. He may be worth a gamble but I am letting other in my league be the high roller.<\/p>\n Others I am Avoiding: Steven Jackson, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Beanie Wells<\/strong><\/p>\n Dwayne Bowe \u2013 <\/strong>Bowe led the NFL in touchdowns last season and is firmly on the Fantasy Radar this season but I am avoiding him. I\u2019m not exactly sold on Matt Cassell, the Chiefs are a run first team and Bowe garnered \u00be of his total Fantasy points in a six game stretch last season. For a WR1 or WR2, I am looking for consistency \u2013 Bowe is not that guy!<\/p>\n Kenny Britt \u2013 <\/strong>Tempted? Don\u2019t be! I know that Britt\u2019s talent is dangled in front of you all the time but consider that he is in line for a suspension by the league (or is just one tiny incident away!) Also consider that Jake Locker will likely be throwing the ball in Tennessee and there is only one conclusion \u2013 AVOID BRITT! [ad-8469823]<\/p>\n Dez Bryant \u2013<\/strong> Bryant already has an injury history which makes me wary of his talents. He will likely get chosen among the Top 20 WRs despite. Looking back at 2010, Bryant only became effective when Tony Romo got injured. With Romo in the lineup, Miles Austin is the man! If Bryant slips in your draft he may be worth a gamble but as a WR1, I am avoiding him!<\/p>\n Brandon Lloyd \u2013 <\/strong>Lloyd was the Fantasy surprise of the season in 2010 but approach him with extreme caution in 2011. Kyle Orton is likely on his way out of Denver leaving a weak armed Tim Tebow at QB and ultra-conservative Coach John Fox is in town. He may be an OK WR3 but avoid Lloyd as a WR1 or 2.<\/p>\n Sidney Rice \u2013<\/strong> Rice is another injury risk \u2013 the dude just can\u2019t seem to stay healthy. With an unsettled QB situation in Minnesota, it is best to avoid this one season wonder.<\/p>\n Austin Collie \u2013 <\/strong>Yet another injury risk! Collie is just one hit away from a career ending injury. Also consider Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clarke and Pierre garcon are in the Indianapolis mix and Collie suddenly doesn\u2019t look so appealing. Look elsewhere!<\/p>\n Others I am Avoiding: Brandon Marshall, Chad Ochocinco <\/strong><\/p>\n Tony Gonzalez \u2013<\/strong> Too old and too many weapons in Atlanta for me to consider Tony for my team. He was going to retire last season \u2013 I can\u2019t see his head being fully in the game in 2011 \u2013 Avoid!<\/p>\n Todd Heap \u2013<\/strong> Heap\u2019s style of play has led to many, many injuries. It is only a matter of time before he is forced to sit again, leaving the two young stud draft picks to be showcased in Baltimore.<\/p>\n Marcedes Lewis –<\/strong> Lewis emerged on the Fantasy Radar but I am avoiding him as my starter.
