Reports suggest the new salary cap will be between $120 million and $123 million. <\/p>\n

That figure doesn\u2019t include player benefits, which could exceed $21 million per team.

Teams will also have a cap floor to prevent them from filling out rosters with minimum-wage earners to boost their revenue.<\/p>\n

James Harrison apologizes for rant<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison has backtracked on his epic Men\u2019s Journal <\/em>rant, which included criticizing his teammates and calling commissioner Roger Goodell a bunch of names, including a gay slur.<\/p>\n

He apologized for \u201csome of the words that I said during the four days in May that Men\u2019s Journal <\/em>was invited to my house to discuss what the NFL has recently been portraying as their attempts at \u2018player safety\u2019 rules and regulations, and to cover my everyday workout routine\u201d Harrison said.<\/p>\n

“I also need to make clear that the comment about Roger Goodell was not intended to be derogatory against gay people in any way,” Harrison added. <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“It was careless use of a slang word and I apologize to all who were offended by the remark. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n

I am not a homophobic bigot, and I would never advocate intolerance of gay people.”<\/p>\n
