Fantasy Football Draft Guide – Are you getting pumped yet about the impending NFL Season? I am too. With the excitement comes the realization that Fantasy Rosters are going to come to fruition in the next six or so weeks. <\/p>\n
That said, it is time for Dave B\u2019s Top 20 Wide Receivers and a brief explanation as to why or why not to draft your favorite Star.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Take a look and don\u2019t be scared to let me know what you think, all queries are read and will be rebutted!<\/strong> \u00a0<\/p>\n \t1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Andre Johnson (Houston)<\/strong> \u2013 Johnson has averaged 1500 yards receiving in the last three years and only injury stopped him from gaining 1500 last season. He averaged double digit targets in all 13 games he played last year and proved once again that he is the most reliable Fantasy Wideout in the game. Johnson is money in the bank.<\/p>\n \t2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Calvin Johnson (Detroit)<\/strong> – Megatron proved that he doesn\u2019t need an elite QB throwing him the ball but a healthy Matt Stafford will certainly help. Johnson caught 12 TD passes in 2010 and proved that he can stay healthy. He has scary upside and is officially elite. <\/p>\n \t3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Roddy White (Atlanta)<\/strong> \u2013 White led the NFL in targets and catches (by a mile) last season. The addition of Julio Jones may dip into his production a tad but it will more likely create some more room for this elite talent. <\/p>\n \t4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Greg Jennings (Green Bay)<\/strong> \u2013 For the first time, Jennings doesn\u2019t necessarily have to worry about a co-#1 receiver \u2013 Donald Driver, Jordy Nelson and James Jones are clear second options. Jennings is a Stud and Jermichael Finley will only serve to open up more holes for Mr. Jennings. <\/p>\n \t5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hakeem Nicks (New York Giants)<\/strong> – Nicks exploded last season and there is no reason to think that he won\u2019t continue his meteoric rise. He is clearly Eli Manning\u2019s favorite target \u2013 reliable in the open field and especially in the Red Zone. <\/p>\n \t6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mike Wallace (Pittsburgh)<\/strong> – Wallace is an immense talent that clearly has the trust of Ben Roethlisberger. He had 6 100+ yard games in the final nine games of the season and appears ready to ascent to elite status.\u00a0 <\/p>\n \t7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona<\/strong>) \u2013 Fitzgerald is undoubtedly one of the most gifted Wide Receivers in the game. Only poor Quarterback play has hindered his numbers. With rumors of Kevin Kolb coming to town, be excited about Fitzgerald\u2019s bounce back season. <\/p>\n \t8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis)<\/strong> \u2013 A few factors allow Wayne to slip to #1 \u2013 a balky knee, Peyton\u2019s injury concerns and the presence of Dallas Clark and Austin Collie. Still Wayne had 111 catches last season and is worthy of a Top 10 ranking. <\/p>\n \t9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vincent Jackson (San Diego)<\/strong> \u2013 If only Jackson played a full season last year! He is an elite talent catching balls from an elite Quarterback \u2013 nuff said! <\/p>\n \t10.\u00a0 Miles Austin (Dallas)<\/strong> – Dez Bryant, if healthy should cut into Austin\u2019s production \u2013 should. Still, I\u2019d take the more reliable, more dependable player and have no issue expecting 1200 yards and 8-10 touchdowns. <\/p>\n \t11.\u00a0 DeSean Jackson (Philadelphia)<\/strong> \u2013 All it takes is one play for Jackson to win you a week. He may not get 8 catches but all he needs is 3. Explosion personified! <\/p>\n \t12.\u00a0 Dwayne Bowe (Kansas City)<\/strong> \u2013 Bowe finally appears as though he \u201cgets it\u201d.\u00a0 His head finally seems right and his play has followed \u2013 he led the league in tds. last season with 15. Bowe could be a steal in this year\u2019s draft. [ad-8469823]<\/p>\n \t13.\u00a0 Mike Williams (Tampa Bay)<\/strong> \u2013 Williams scored 11 tds. in his rookie year and should be better this season. <\/p>\n \t14.\u00a0 Jeremy Maclin (Philadelphia)<\/strong> – Maclin may be the best second option in the NFL. As the possession guy in a pass heavy offense, Maclin won\u2019t disappoint. <\/p>\n \t15.\u00a0 Wes Welker (New England)<\/strong> \u2013 Welker is still a beauty and could catch 100 balls again. The problem is that he doesn\u2019t score a ton and there is a variety of options at Tom Brady\u2019s disposal. Welker is a very good WR2 however.<\/p>\n \t16.\u00a0 Brandon Lloyd (Denver)<\/strong> \u2013 Lloyd\u2019s performance last season should have vaulted him to WR1 status. But with a new conservative coach and an unsettled QB situation, Lloyd becomes a worthwhile gamble rather than a sure thing. <\/p>\n \t17.\u00a0 Austin Collie (Indianapolis)<\/strong> \u2013 Collie is a bit of a risk due to his injury history but when he is right he is very, very good. Monitor the situation. If he is 100% take a chance. <\/p>\n \t18.\u00a0 Santonio Holmes (New York Jets)<\/strong> \u2013 Holmes looks to be the #1 receiver on a very good team. With Braylon Edwards likely moving on, Holmes looks like a lock to continue his strong play. <\/p>\n \t19.\u00a0 Dez Bryant (Dallas)<\/strong> \u2013 Bryant is an insane talent who plays in a very good offense. If he can channel Dwayne Bowe and get his head straight, Bryant could be Top 10 by season\u2019s end. <\/p>\n \t20.\u00a0 Marques Colston (New Orleans)<\/strong> \u2013 It\u2019s pretty tough to pick the Saint that will steal the spotlight every week but there is no question that Colston is the best of the bunch.
