The Diamondbacks continue their road trip thru the N.L. Central as they take on the Cardinals in St. Louis. Joe Saunders takes the mound with a 5-7 record and a 4.04 ERA. The lefty is pitching better having thrown four consecutive quality starts. His last time out, he dominated the light- hitting Oakland Athletics. Only Nick Punto (4-14), Ryan Theriot (5-7) and Matt Holliday (1-8) have seen Saunders so far. St. Louis\u2019 offense should improve their numbers with Albert Pujols back in the lineup. St. Louis is hitting .264 against left-handed starters while averaging 4.5 runs per game. Arizona\u2019s bullpen has 11 losses and 10 blown saves this season.<\/p>\n

Kyle McClellan makes his 15th start of the season. The righty is 5-5 with a 4.36 ERA as a starter. He has given up 11 runs and 21 hits over his last 18 innings of work. Arizona has already faced him this season scoring just 1 run on seven hits in six innings. Xavier Nady (2-6), Chris Young (3-9), Miguel Montero (2-6) and Justin Upton (2-7) have good numbers against the Cardinals\u2019 starter. Arizona is hitting right around .260 in their last eight games with five of those games going Over the total. The team has gone Over in seven of their last 10 games as well. The St. Louis bullpen has been real shaky this season losing 15 games while blowing another 13 games.
