The battle for bragging rights in the Big Apple gets underway this Friday night in Game 1 of a three-game series at Citi Field between the Yankees and the Mets. Game time is set for 7:10 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast on the MLB<\/a> Network. <\/p>\n Bet On Baseball – (Subway Series) New York Yankees vs. New York Mets<\/strong> The Yankees will try and win their fifth straight when they wrap-up their series with Milwaukee on Thursday afternoon. He is 7-4 this year with a 4.26 ERA in 15 starts. After turning in his best outing of the year against Cincinnati on June 20, he was very average his last time out; giving up four earned runs on six hits in six innings of work.<\/p>\n The Mets continue to hang tough in the NL East with a four-game winning streak of their own heading into Thursday\u2019s game with Detroit. They are 41-39 overall after winning seven of their last 10 and 9.5 games behind Philadelphia in the NL East. The Mets are 23-19 on the road, but just 18-20 at Citi Field. The left hander is 7-6 this season with a 3.67 ERA in 16 previous starts. His last time out he gave up two earned runs on six hits in 5.2 innings of work to get the win over Texas.<\/p>\n Head-to-head, the Yankees won two of three earlier this season in the Bronx with the total going \u2018over\u2019 in two of the games. Last season the series was tied 3-3, but the Mets went 2-1 at home.
