MLB Betting \u2013 Yankees vs Angels Preview & Pick<\/strong> New York Yankees (31-23 through June 2)<\/strong> The Yankees\u2019 Western road trip started with two road losses in Seattle but, since then, it suddenly turned very friendly. Through Thursday night, the Bronx Bombers had won four straight, winning the series finale against Seattle and steamrolling Oakland three straight times. During the streak, New York has outscored opponents 26-6. The Bats are hot and so are the arms.<\/p>\n The key of late for the Yanks\u2019 offense has been a return to form for some slumping sluggers. Robinson Cano is really heating up and Nick Swisher has finally found his power stroke. He has a pair of longballs during his current six-game hitting streak.<\/p>\n Saturday\u2019s probable Yankee starter, C.C. Sabathia, already has sparkling numbers this season, but he\u2019s ahead of schedule. According to his career splits, he only really gets going in the second half. Does that mean C.C. is in store for a career year? It\u2019ll be interesting to see how he handles the Angels, one of the few teams to have his number. He\u2019s 5-7 with a 4.72 lifetime ERA against them.<\/p>\n Los Angeles Angels (29-29 through June 2)<\/strong> The Angels are the quintessential .500 team. They have a few outstanding players, a few duds and a slew of injuries keeping them from any major success. Howie Kendrick, Kendrys Morales and Vernon Wells were arguably their top three hitters entering the 2011 season; all three are on the DL. Dan Haren has probably been L.A.\u2019s best player overall this season and he, too is battling injury woes. He\u2019s questionable for Saturday\u2019s start with a bad back.<\/p>\n MLB Trends:<\/strong><\/p>\n Over is 8-2-1 in NYY last 11 overall. The pick:<\/strong><\/p>\n As outstanding as Haren has been so far this season, his arrow is trending downward. He\u2019s allowed eight runs over his last two starts, clearly bothered by the sore back. He\u2019s a homer-prone pitcher facing the top homer-hitting team in baseball. Though he\u2019s 4-1 against the Yankees in his career, they\u2019ve taken him deep six times.<\/p>\n I think the Yankees will play long ball and get to Haren on Saturday. Watch out for Mark Teixeira in particular. He has three homers in 26 at-bats against Haren and has four homers in his last seven games this season.<\/p>\n
