Maybe it\u2019s the start of a hot streak?<\/p>\n Oakland Athletics (27-27 through May 29)<\/strong> Fuelled by the best pitching staff in baseball so far this season \u2013 the A\u2019s lead the majors with a 2.84 ERA and 37 quality starts \u2013 Oakland is back in the American League West hunt. Through Sunday, it had won four straight games. Though hits have been hard to come by, the A\u2019s have to be happy with Josh Willingham\u2019s contribution. He leads the team with nine homers and is on track for a 100-RBI season. Oakland doesn\u2019t need a ton of run support to win these days, so his modest contributions are appreciated.<\/p>\n MLB Trends:<\/strong><\/p>\n Over is 7-1-1 in NYY last 9 overall. The pick:<\/strong><\/p>\n Brett Anderson takes the mound for Oakland Tuesday. While he\u2019s been his usual outstanding self of late, allowing one run over his last two starts combined, he hasn\u2019t fared well against the Yankees in his career. Anderson is 0-3 with a 4.68 ERA against the Yankees, who bat .305 off him.<\/p>\n The big Anderson killer is switch-hitting monster Mark Teixeira. He\u2019s a .500 career hitter with a homer and six RBI in 12 career at-bats against Anderson. Tex also happens to be on fire right now, with six homers in his last 10 games.
